A last minute request from an adolescent grandchild sent me to Amazon. What a surprise and how wonderfully helpful!!! I selected a gift certificate for the grandson working on his PhD and needs many resources which he finds on Amazon. Absolutely I listen to it over and over, all year round. I have it in the car with me, in my room, and in my discman. The powerful guitars, angelic vocals, pouding drums, and strumming chorus make this entire a divine musical masterpiece. The TSO has to be one of the greatest music machines. This is a great CD for modern music listeners, or for old time music goers! It is a wonderful blend of classical music with strong rock beats. It is not to slow the modern rock listener and not too hard for the classical music listener. The songs tell a great christmas story and the the CD Jacket has added literature that expands on the story. Like the 1996 release, Christmas Eve and Other Stories, this is one holiday CD you will love. No matter what music you enjoy, whether it's metal, jazz, blues, classical, or pop, you can't go wrong with this release. The music is amazing throughout, the wide array of singers very impressive, and the message that comes across is touching to all who listen closely. TSO is a great mixture of traditional Christmas tunes with a modern rock twist. Plenty of keyboards and orchastra with a choir in the background. And some of thelead vocalists are excellent rock voices, too!
