Free Music Review: Good guitars, nice tunes

If you like to listen to Electric Guitars with familiar warming melodies and awesome guitar work and solos this is the box set to buy. Do not be misguided by this thing being tagged as 'Christmas stuff', it's a lot more than Christmas tunes: it's a bunch of musical pieces with exquisite arrangements and interesting passages. Not all tracks of the three albums are equally good, but there is at least a couple of tunes on each CD that make each part of this trilogy an must have.
My favorite song above all other ones is 'Christmas Eve in Sarajevo'.

This set is the one to buy if you like Trans-Siberian Orchestra(TSO). My only complaint is that Amazon doesn't label the DVD that comes with it, they just call it an extra DVD, I thought it'd have behind-the-scenes info and stuff like that, so I bought TSO's DVD movie, The Ghost Of Christmas Eve, the only problem with that is, the "extra DVD" in this trilogy is in fact The Ghost Of Christmas Eve. So, if you, like me, want to buy all the discs that TSO has out, then don't buy The Ghost Of Christmas Eve separately, it comes with this trilogy.Free Music Review: The TRUE meaning of Christmas!

It is a rare chance to have something that is so powerful in today's society that depicts the true meaning of Christmas. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra in a very revernt way combines the classical religious Christmas Carols with an orchestra with the rock style of AC/DC. The CDs follow a wonderful story about Christmas and hope! Every CD is worth listening to throughout the entire year! The DVD is also a great story, wonderfully filmed with great imagery. I bought this set for my husband, as I thought it would be like a Christmas Rock Opera.I originally bought it for one song "The Wizard of Winter". The first time we played the CD's, we thought "What a mistake". However, by about the third time we listened to it, we started to enjoy it. Now, we can go the entire Christmas season listening only to this CD set. It is very different, but keeps you wanting to play it over and over again. I was suspicious of Christmas music done by a bunch of rockers since Christmas is joyful, but reverent, for me. "The Christmas Trilogy" fits that balance beautifully, with upbeat, complex, and diverse tunes that don't get stale or annoying after listening to them over and over. The songs with lyrics are profound at times, and reflective of the deep meanings of Christmas, while balancing that with celebration in other songs. We find this set has become not just a modern "Christmas" classic for us, but one we enjoy all year round.
