Free Music Review: Amazing!!

I am a huge fan of the score from the first Transformers. As much as I love that music, I was a bit worried that ROTF might be a rehashing of the original music because it was so popular. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to hear the old themes, but I also wanted the score to progress. IT DID!!!! It's an incredible piece of work. I heard the score before I saw the movie, and it made me want to see the movie even more than I already did. Here are some highlights for me:
1. Prime - Very powerful new theme. Perfect opening to the album.
2. Einstein's Wrong - Really cool intricate track. Kind of surprising at first, but I like it more every time I listen. I love the choir and the rhythms.
3. NEST - I love how Jablonsky used Linkin Park in this track. I'm a LP fan as well, best of both worlds.
5. The Fallen - One of my favorites, a terrific new theme for the bad guy. This one is creepy and very effective.
6. Infinite White - Probably my favorite track. Jablonsky really nails the emotional moments, this track is another example of that. Beautiful singing as well.
9. Tomb of the Primes - Lots of emotion in this track, and it's a terrific moment in the movie (no spoilers!)
10. Forest Battle - Great action cue. The Optimus Prime part at the end is AWESOME! I loved that part in the movie!!
12. Matrix of Leadership - Another very moving track from Jablonsky, I love the use of voice, orchestra and choir. Beautiful, same voice from Infinite White I think.
13. I Claim Your Sun - Heart-pounding action music, probably my favorite action piece on the CD.
COMPLAINT: Why is this CD so short?? I saw the movie, and enjoyed it (too long though!!). I don't know why score CD's are always so short. There were other great moments, like the first time we see Optimus. I wish some of those things were on the CD. Maybe they'll release an expanded score later on???!?!? I hope so.
So far this is my favorite score of the summer. I was really looking forward to this and Giacchino's Star Trek. I liked Star Trek, but was also a bit disappointed that it didn't quite live up to my expectation. So I was worried that Jablonsky would disappoint me as well. He did NOT! Thank you for another terrific score.
