Free Music Review: WOW
Hit: 5 Stars

Hey guys, just an advice: simply buy this cd, you won't regret it!!!
Bye!!

Free Music Review: Immaturity
Hit: 5 Stars

Trapt is a great band. They produce fabulous music. I just don't get why Trapt put the F word in all their lyrics. It's unnecessary. Just be mature and keep on making great music! Curse words will not add to popularity unless rebels are fans, lol. I love "Still Frame", but I don't like the needless cursing; however, it's funny.

Free Music Review: What are you thinking, it's so misleading
Hit: 2 Stars

Trapt embodies everything that's wrong with mainstream rock. Having said that, I find it very easy to hate these guys. Their sound, aside from maybe two songs, is just one big retread and their lyrics are ponderous. Plus the pretty boy image just isn't working. Rock is about pure and honest emotion, these guys are giving rock a bad name plain and simple.

When Headstrong first hit the airwaves I knew it was terribly corny and that I should hate it but I couldn't; it was far too catchy. I honestly still do like the song mildly but it's worn out it's welcome. Hollowman is one of the two standout tracks included in their self titled debut. The vocal work is nice and there are a few nice guitar riffs, not to mention the great melodic verses. Enigma is the other good track included. Melody rules throughout with an almost brooding sensibility. When the chorus comes pounding in you automatically feel like you've heard it before. A warm welcome you could say. Either way, this is a great song.

If you MUST have this CD get it as cheap as possible, never mind if it's used or not. In the end this is nothing but a trend CD. Sure the majority of these songs are catchy and easily listenable but there's no experimentation in the tracks, they stick to a predetermined path. Trapt could be something great if they'd actually experiment with their instruments. A few guitar solos never hurt anyone. Discernable bass is always a good thing, just look at Korn. Getting agressive with your drumming isn't hard either. I don't think that's too much to ask.

My favorite songs are Headstrong, Hollowman, and Enigma. Basically what it all boils down to is the lack of originality. Yes Trapt came out at a time where it was easy to get them mixed up with any other radio band but still, Breaking Benjamin came out fighting and have gained a huge following. Of course it didn't help their case that it took them so horribly long to come out with a followup. Trapt is a joke and it's no wonder that you don't hear from them anymore. Oh, and my rating, that's being generous.

Free Music Review: You Know, This Was Overlooked
Hit: 5 Stars

Never have I figured out why Trapt's first LP went so unnoticed at its initial debut in '02 (you know, the year Nellyville was the #1 album). This freshman effort sure has plenty of memorable tracks, most of which go criminally overshadowed by the hit single and lead-off man `Headstrong,' which curiously did not become a hit at all until '03. Funny, I actually found this to be one of the least enjoyable songs on the entire album; the likes of `Hollowman, These Walls,' and the preachy wisdom presented by `Still Frame' all have better lyrical structure and chorus progression. Many compare Trapt to Breaking Benjamin's Saturate, however misguided they are. Saturate has no good singles and all the songs have the exact same verse-chorus-verse-chorus-filler-more-[...] structure, where almost every track off Trapt has weight, yet almost every track presents a different musical arrangement and vocal attitude. Some might say (hey, isn't that Morning Glory?) the lighter songs `Heart of Glass, Echo,' and the `A Day In The Life'-like (you know, from Sgt. Peppers), 9 minute long `New Beginning' at the end of the album pile up into akin and nostalgic filler. Likewise, some might say the locomotive-like opening to `Still Frame,' the reprieving acoustics of `Stories,' and the album's climax, `The Game,' with its addictive bass line and monster riff at each chorus, all mimic the likes of mainstream post-Grungers (you know, Live and Bush, also accused of being knock-offs) and really amount to no more than a bunch of bogus mumbo-jumbo. All wrong. From start to finish, Trapt will keep you entertained, no filler, every song worth it. Second to Believe for my favorite of '02, but mind you it beat out One by One and even the great Maladroit for that spot.

Free Music Review: We're shakin' the scales
Hit: 4 Stars

Despite what many have said elsewhere on this page, this album socks socks. I bought it way after the hits actually came out. 3 years after. I saw the familiar title & snagged it. At first listen, I couldn't help myself from picking up my air-guitar & rocking my head. "Still Frame" & "Echo" will pull your attention in right away, not to mention "Headstrong." These songs are classic examples to what rock is all about. Those who wish to bash Trapt need to look back & look a little bit deeper. The three above songs will pull you in right away, but the rest of the album isn't far behind. It'll draw you in. I've been listening to this CD for three days straight now. I love it. The drummer for one, demonstrates amazing skill in the very first song, as well as a real baddass singer right off the bat.
Dudes, this band is beast. I hope they drop a new one soon.
