Free Music Notes for Traveling Wilburys (2 CD / 1 DVD)

Free Music Review: Five old friends heading for the light...
Hit: 5 Stars

The definitive compendium for Traveling Wilburys work.

Highlights:
* "Handle with Care" with vocals by Otis, Nelson, Lefty, Lucky, and Charlie T. Jnr! :D

* Roy Orbison singing on "Not Alone Any More"

* Bob Dylan singing on "Congratulations"

* George Harrison singing on "Heading for the Light"

* "Runaway" on disc 3

* A picture of the five musicians "heading for the light" inside the box

* Disc 2 DVD with promo videos for main themes and a documentary (now I know where Beatles and Neil Aspinall get the idea of do a documentary on "how we record it..." the Anthology new songs) on which group members narrate how they recorded the albums and work after Orbison.

* Wonderful pictures inside the book and in the box.

Free Music Review: A Joyful Experience
Hit: 5 Stars

Just received this three disc set and immediately watched "The Making Of" DVD. I loved watching these power-house performers have fun and create such joyful music. End Of The Line is so much fun to watch and listen to. It's a great way to start your day. Tweeter And The Monkey Man is Dylan to the core ... witty, puzzling and thought provoking, fun. Handle With Care seems so happy and yet when really listening to the lyrics it's a bit heartbreaking too. There's not a bad song in the bunch. It looks like they had a great time making the album and I had a great time listening and watching. The moon and stars must have aligned themselves just right to get these guys in the same place at the same time with a common goal ... to have fun and make good music. Gonna run outside and see if the sky is yella! Thanks guys!

Free Music Review: Great Reissue Of The Entire Traveling Wilburys Catalog
Hit: 5 Stars

This collection of the Traveling Wilburys' entire catalog is a welcome addition to the spate of reissues of the CD era, and although, sadly, Roy Orbison and George Harrison aren't around to enjoy it, the other three (Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne) are still around, making great music, and advocating sanctions on Indonesia in retaliation for that country's trumped-up 2005 drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist and community-service requirements for high-school graduation. "Handle With Care", originally intended as a Harrison B-side, is one of pop's great singles, whereas "End Of The Line" is a warning against throwing off one's contentment that inspired my opposition to a federal shield law for journalists. This is a great anthology that belongs in any pop or rock collection.

Free Music Review: I love the music of the Travelling Wilburys
Hit: 5 Stars

I love the music of The Travelling Wilburys on the two discs here. I also enjoyed watching the videos on the DVD. "Handle With Care" and "End Of The Line" are my favorite tracks. I love George Harrison singing lead vocals on these classic tunes. "She's My Baby" is an excellent rock and roll song. I love Jeff Lynne's electric guitar playing on this track. "The Wilbury Twist" is a fun upbeat track. I love Tom's Petty's vocals. Not Alone Any More is another highlight here. Roy Orbison's voice is so heartfelt on this track. Bob Dylan shines on the tracks "Inside Out" on "Dirty World". He is the member of the group I knew least about. He is a very good singer. "New Blue Moon" is a perfect example of how well these musicians sound together. This is fun music.

Free Music Review: The DVD alone is worth the price...
Hit: 5 Stars

I think I saw one of the videos on YouTube -- maybe "Handle With Care" -- and I was sold. I already had Vol I and Vol 3 -- bought years ago. For some reason, I thought I had tired of the Wilburys some years ago, but somehow these tracks seem better. Maybe I'm just getting older and more sentimental. Seeing the documentary certainly enhances the enjoyment of hearing these songs even without the video -- truly priceless. Not often do we get a chance to see Orbison laughing and singing. And Dylan! Wow, such a gentleman to do this, with all the commitments he has to fulfill -- if you want to enjoy these superstars on video, enjoying each other's company, this is a must buy. It amazes me how good the extra tracks are. Jeff Lynne is a genius. And so are the rest.
