Free Music Review: The Labyrinth soundtrack Hit: 5 StarsLove the movie, love the soundtrack...it lags a bit during the instrumental pieces, but the Bowie tracks more than make up for it.

Free Music Review: The BEST film ever... Hit: 5 StarsAnd the best music in it!
I Grow up with this film.
I will always love Labyrinth.
Free Music Review: Your Eyes Can Be So Cruel Hit: 4 StarsI've loved the film since I was young. I've now got the soundtrack, and I'm desperately trying to get my hands on the poster. Very funky.
The lyrics to some of the tracks shed some more of the 'relationship' between Sarah & The Goblin King. It's so good, and the film has made the transition from watching it as a child, to watching (and understanding) it as an adult. There could have been so much more to the relationship on screen, and this shows in the lyrics. Particularly in "As The World Falls Down", and "Within You". My favourite is definitely "Within You", where I took the title of my review from. How true.
Not much of this soundtrack, is songs, it's more music. There are a few songs in them, but it's mainly just tracks. Of course the "Opening Titles", "Magic Dance", "Chilly Down" (ugh, ugh), and the two afore-mentioned tracks feature David Bowie. "Chilly Down" is the worst song however, but I hated the scene in the film. (The one where those fire-red things took off their heads, and various limbs - the scene didn't work, the song doesn't work.)
My favourite track is definitely "Magic Dance" with "Within You" following a very close second. "Magic Dance" is on repeat in my headphones, and is a very feel good track, unlike the rest of the music. It's also been extended from the film, and is certainly one for dancing round your room like a mad hatter. The rest of the music, is very spiritual, and is certainly something you could just have on in the background, while relaxing, or doing whatever. It stands alone from the film as well, and not many soundtracks have the ability to do that.
This soundtrack is a must for any Labyrinth fan (as is the poster - gimme!) But probably not for David Bowie haters, or those who cannot get the image of him out their head in tights!!! Oooooh err.
