Free Music Notes for Labyrinth: From The Original Soundtrack Of The Jim Henson Film

Free Music Review: Great - with only a little wincing from David Bowie
Hit: 4 Stars

I loved this movie. I agree with the poster below; this type of fantasy touches something in women. We love this magic-guy-in-love-with-the-real-world-heroine story. The music is haunting, mystical, sometimes silly (The Goblin Battle), and altogether wonderful. Two of David Bowie's songs - "Chilly Down" and "Magic Dance" made me rate this four stars because I truly do not care for these two tunes. The rest, however, paints a perfect picture of fantasy, especially the lovely "Sarah" the almost heartbreaking "Home at Last," and the whole reason for buying the soundtrack, the stellar "As The World Falls Down." All in all, a damn good album.

Free Music Review: Let's Talk Bowie
Hit: 5 Stars

This particular soundtrack benefits two kinds of people, 1) David Bowie fans, and 2) Labyrinth fans. If you subscribe to fanships under both categories, like myself, then it's all the more bang for your buck. First, let's talk Bowie. David Bowie is one of those individuals in life who has been given the blessed talent to express thoughts, feelings, and terms of reality in such a way that clearly defines a new shade of color in the spectrum of music. Obviously, these songs can only achieve so much depth for a movie whose cast largely consists of puppets - that it is to say, this soundtrack should not be perceived as a true representation of David Bowie's work in general. Regardless, Bowie ROCKS where ROCK is needed, and romances for that matter, referring to, of course, 'As the World Falls Down'. For those people who loved the movie, and likely have the songs committed to memory anyway, having the soundtrack at hand allows you to slip into that world of musical mayhem without the aid of the television. One last thing, 'Chilly Down' (not sung by Bowie) is a little wierd but go with it, you might the like the song, and does make sense in the context of the movie - sort of.

Free Music Review: Go get it. Don't even get dressed just get up and go!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Jesus! Why don't you already own everything Bowie has ever done? What is wrong with you?

Sometimes, the songs on this album are goofy, but even from a non-PG point of view, this soundtrack delivers! 'As the World Falls Down' and 'Within You' are awesome examples of classic Bowie genius. Why are you wasting your time reading this? Go, go. Buy it now!

Free Music Review: Down In the Underground
Hit: 4 Stars

To me, this is just a really fun album. Bowie doesn't actually sing a lot in the film but it does have some lovely instrumental songs. The songs Bowie sings are: 'Opening Titles'including 'Underground, Magic Dance' - David Bowie (Okay, maybe it's the kid in me but I love this song), 'Chilly Down' - David Bowie, 'Within You' - David Bowie (I like this one but I sometimes find it hard to understand what he is saying), and 'Underground' - David Bowie. This, the last song that Bowie sings, is the song that is played when Jareth turns back into an owl. There are twelve songs in all on this CD. Really good music and fun for people who like the film.
