Free Music Notes for JuxtaposeFree Music Review: Crazy; just crazy... Hit: 5 Stars
Crazingly good, this cd. His 6th already (counting in his two side-projects "Nearly God" and "Grassroots"), and his music is getting better every release. Where "Angels With Dirty Faces" was very dark and depressing, "Juxtapose" could nearly (considering it's Tricky) be described as 'carnival-music'. But don't think this is not good; it's wonderful! It's so refreshing to hear 'the other' Thaws now. So go check it out. If you liked his other cd's, you'll definitely love this one; you'll even have to admit it's his best till now. (It'll probably take a short period of 'getting used to', but that's only for the better! :-)
Free Music Review: Tricky steps up Hit: 5 Stars
Three listens to Juxtapose and I was hooked on what is Tricky's best release since Maxinquaye. It's a totally different style, with a totally different vibe than anything else Tricky has put out. If you allow yourself to go with the genius that is Tricky, you will love this album.Forget what Tricky has done in the past. Tricky always sets out to reinvent himself and his genre each time he comes out of the studio. While Contradictive is by far his best work since Christiansands on the mellower front, songs like I like the ladies and She Said are a step in a completely new and amazing direction. Relax, step back from his past, and enjoy this new vibe.
Free Music Review: My only complaint is that the album is too short! Hit: 5 Stars
It's funny. I read what everyone has been writing about this album and it makes me laugh. I think Tricky could care less what anyone thinks he should do with his career. That was evident with "Angels With Dirty Faces" and perhaps even this one. I think he will continue to do what he does best--write music the way he wants to write it. And this album is a worthy addition to his creative endeavors--a great listen. Listen for "Wash My Soul", Hot Like A Sauna", "Contradictive", and "For Real".
Free Music Review: great disc! Hit: 5 Stars
This cd is just great...the best Tricky has ever put out! The first song(for real), is very mellow...but the rest of the disc is quite heavy! I especially like "Bom bom diggy" "she said" and "hot like a sauan(metal mix is better than the original)", and i think "i like girls" is hilarious! but anyways. it's a great disc you should check out
Free Music Review: Da Bomb! Hope It Hits In America Hit: 5 Stars
I don't know about you other Tricky fans. After the Pre-millenium joint, I could feel the dark that tricky was feeling. Must have been that Y2K crap... Anyway, he's back. And, teamed up with some talent. I have listened to this album non-stop unlike the last. It is really all that! I mean hard beats and that gothic Tricky sound. It is just the BOMB!
