Free Music Notes for Trio II (Two)

Free Music Review: Please Linda--did you fax your songs in?
Hit: 3 Stars

Don't get me wrong...I'm a Linda Ronstadt fan from WAY back...but I don't think a TRIO album should include 5 PREVIOUSLY RELEASED songs from her. I already bought that CD! The hightlights are the 3 songs with Emmylou Harris on lead, buy the CD just for those. The two and three way harmonies are less distinct and therefore less satisfying than on TRIO I. A disappointment.

Free Music Review: BETTER THAN THE FIRST TRIO
Hit: 5 Stars

I Haven't changed the CD since I put it in my car. My favorites include "Blues Movin in", "He rode all the way to Texas", "Blue Train", "After the Goldrush", and "Feels like Home". It dosn't matter that Parton and Rondsatd previously released a couple of these on solo albums cause these are treasures with the beutiful harmonies. I'm waiting for Trio III. My only question is why isn't radio playing this? It rocketed to #4 on Billboards Country Album Charts with no single release. Obviously these are some great songs that deserve airplay. To Parton/Harris/Rondstatd: YOU GO GIRLS

Free Music Review: AWESOME!
Hit: 5 Stars

Being a big Neil Young fan, a cover of any of his songs would normally send me into orbit. I was completely frozen by the sound when I first heard "After the Gold Rush" sung by the Trio Gals. I was in a sporting goods store and I tried for all my life to figure out who was singing but couldn't nail it down. I was absolutely mesmirized by the "pure" sound of it. Their voices mesh together in a way that could best be discribed as heavenly. These "ANGELS" have done it again. For talents such as these to tone down their individual voices that made them so successful on their own and sing from the heart in such a raw form is truely inspiring and they reap their own reward in the finished product. Pure heaven!

Free Music Review: The Trio has returned!!!
Hit: 4 Stars

The first TRIO album was a winner, despite being released in the 1980's. The songs had a timeless appeal to them and Dolly, Emmylou and Linda obviously put their heart & souls into the singing. TRIO II is nearly as good. Some of the songs (especially After The Gold Rush) are a bit "pop" for a country trio, but that should help them snag a few fans from the "other side of the fence." Great job, ladies!

Free Music Review: angelic harmonies
Hit: 5 Stars

I really love this album, they sound great together and I am pleased that they are getting some commercial success! Not enough Linda for my liking but hey I would say that, I run a Linda web page @ http://users.powernet.co.uk/skeyes/dedicatedtolinda/index.html - Favourite songs? Lover's Return, You'll Never be The Sun and When We're Gone, Long Gone! can't wait for Emmylou and Linda's duet album due in July!
