I'm surprised no one has reviewed this yet. I stumbled across Tripswitch through Nick Warren's recent Paris set. If you enjoyed Warren's somewhat chilled Paris mix then you'll enjoy the entire Tripswitch album.
This is some truly stellar electronic music, a throwback to Sasha and Digweed's Northern Exposure days yet non-derivative and sounding quite fresh. It's got a beautiful, ambient sound to it yet it carries you along with its beat.
Remember how in the early days of techno space was a big them, with samples and sounds to boot? This album has a similar song, with intellgient snippets of tachyons and outer space that really add a nice touch to the dreamy sound of the music.
But it isn't all like that. It's quite diverse. The tune found on Nick Warren's Paris mix has a steel guitar sound to it, reminiscent of KLF's Chill Out mix but with more of a beat.
Overall it's really quite beautiful and moving. I highly recommend seeking this one out.
