Free Music Review: Amazing Exhibition of Power and Soul
Hit: 5 Stars

This is an amazing collection of songs, thematically related as you might guess from the title. The songwriting and musicianship contribute to display Trisha's unique style and incredible vocals. Powerful vocals and heart-tugging memorable lyrics are what she's known for, and this CD does not disappoint.

The title track is an awesome gospel-tinged tune, a fantastic choice to reveal her particular talents. "This is Me You're Talking To" resonates with me; it tears my heart out. This is some of Trisha's best work. Though elements of new country exist on this record, its more an exhibition of how great traditional gospel-tinged country can be. I agree with reviewers who believe that there's no filler on this record. They're all great songs, interperated to the fullest.

Free Music Review: nicely crafted cd
Hit: 4 Stars

This cd is big in emotion - plaintive to rocking....I can't decide which style I like best from Yearwood. I guess I like her best when she connects with the song and the song is well written and there are plenty here from the title cut to "this is me", "nothin' bout you", "drown me" and "let the wind chase you".

Free Music Review: Trisha is Back!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a superb CD. The highlight is "This Is Me You're Talking To." Great song, great voice!!! In addition to that masterpiece, most of the songs are great. The strongest are: "They Call It Falling For A Reason," "Nothin' `Bout Memphis," "Let The Wind Chase You," "Dreaming Fields," "Help Me," and "Not A Bad Thing." The CD ends with another highlight -- awesome, simple song "Sing You Back To Me." I highly recommend this music!

Free Music Review: Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of A Voice
Hit: 4 Stars

For over 15 years, Trisha Yearwood has been known as one of the finest interpreters in any genre of music. One would not believe she's not a songwriter by listening to her bring a song to life. She has a depth that only the finest artists can reach. Not Shania, not Faith, and not Gretchen. She is timeless and classy; a league all her own.

That being said, I was surprised to see this new release from Ms. Yearwood. She's laid back throughout most of this record, sort of off the beaten path for her. Ballads have always been her bread and butter. Very seldom have we seen a glimpse of her fun side ("Perfect Love", "XXX's And OOO's", etc).

She brought back Garth Fundis, harkening her beginnings in Nashville, and the connection was a homerun. The lead off single/title track is a fun romp that we have only seen hints of in the past. But it doesn't stop there. Later in the record, she tears it up a few more times. ("Drown Me", "Not A Bad Thing", "Nothin' About You Is Good For Me") Even her mid tempo songs are pure ear candy. "Cowboys Are My Weakness" is a Holly Dunn cover I believe. It's a soothing traditional country song that will make you yearn for a cold glass of lemonade and a country sunset.

She wouldn't be Trisha Yearwood, however, if she didn't tug at your heartstrings a few times. Second single "This Is Me You're Talking To" is about running into an old lover, and seemingly trying to re-ignite old flames. My personal favorite on the album is "Nothing About Memphis." Her current lover takes her to Memphis to show her around, not knowing that this isn't her first time here...a very nice treat from an artist that is known for her artistic story telling.

These are just a few of the 13 songs on this collection. Trisha Yearwood may not be a major label artist anymore, but don't count her out. She's still a heavy hitter in every sense of the word!

Free Music Review: still waiting for trisha's very own 'heart like a wheel'
Hit: 3 Stars

Trisha Yearwood has the most gorgeous voice in today's country music. I'm still waiting, however, for that 'magic' album where the songs and the artist fuse perfectly, as in her idol Linda Ronstadt's 'Heart like a Wheel' or 'Prisoner in Disguise'.
