Free Music Notes for Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of LoveFree Music Review: So Great To Hear Trisha Yearwood Again Hit: 5 Stars
I've been waiting a long time for the real Trisha Yearwood to present us with a treasure. The last good work I've heard from Ms. Yearwood is the single "The Georgia Rain". I realize this album is from 2007, but I really stopped looking for new work and just lucked into it. With this album we have a selection of songs worthy of Trisha Yearwood's voice and interpretation. This album reminds one of her former albums where her powerful voice can change to "sweetness" while stopping on a dime. Trisha Yearwood is a contry artist who does not put out "formula" country music. If she can get songs that are up to her standards it would be impossible for her to give us anything, but a spectacular album. It's great to have her back and here's hoping for more good albums from one of the best country singers there is.
Free Music Review: Amazing Exhibition of Power and Soul Hit: 5 Stars
This is an amazing collection of songs, thematically related as you might guess from the title. The songwriting and musicianship contribute to display Trisha's unique style and incredible vocals. Powerful vocals and heart-tugging memorable lyrics are what she's known for, and this CD does not disappoint.
The title track is an awesome gospel-tinged tune, a fantastic choice to reveal her particular talents. "This is Me You're Talking To" resonates with me; it tears my heart out. This is some of Trisha's best work. Though elements of new country exist on this record, its more an exhibition of how great traditional gospel-tinged country can be. I agree with reviewers who believe that there's no filler on this record. They're all great songs, interperated to the fullest.
Free Music Review: Absolutely love this album! Hit: 5 Stars
I've always liked Trisha Yearwood and owned a couple of her albums, but hadn't heard anything by her for years that I thought was really special. Then I saw the video for "This is Me You're Talking To", and Trisha's amazing voice made me want to cry. I bought the album the next day and have kept it in my car CD player ever since. I love almost every song on the album--there's something there for nearly every possible mood. "Not a Bad Thing" is great for those I-can-make-it-without-you independent days; "Sing You Back to Me" is sweet and sad; "Dreaming Fields" makes me yearn for times past; and "Cowboys Are My Weakness" never fails to make me smile! I rank this album among the top 4 or 5 of my entire 300+ CD collection.
Free Music Review: Deep, Poignant, Beautifully Crafted Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD having not heard Trisha Yearwoods latest three albums leading up to this one. Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love delivers song after song of powerful statements such as the line in "This Is Me Your Talking To".... the message is clear "he thinks he's the only one who's touched me like that, but he don't know nothin bout Memphis." With songs written by Karen Rochelle, Matrace Berg and Greg Bernhill, Trisha Yearwood sends the message "you can't have heaven without the heartache, but hopefully by the time you get there, you'll have perspective" (paraphrase).
In short, I enjoyed it from "Heaven" to "Sing You Back To Me"
Free Music Review: Mrs. Brooks Brings it Again! Hit: 5 Stars
Trisha Yearwood delivers another cd full of hits here. The woman has a voice that can be rivaled by few and she displays her stardom on this cd. She makes the transition from singing "country" to "diva pop" seem effortless and natural, which is a skill that few of her comtemporaries have mastered. Once again, she sings about love and relationships and I can relate to many of the songs on this cd. "Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love" is one of the overall best country cds I have heard this year (I didn't get the cd until a few months ago) and it reminds me why Trisha Yearwood has become a mainstay in country music.
