Free Music Notes for Jasper County (Featuring Duet With Garth Brooks)Free Music Review: Jasper County Hit: 3 StarsI bought this CD solely for the title song, which I fell in love with the first time I heard it. I must've listened to it hundreds of times and I never tire of it. The other songs? Couldn't tell you since I keep my player on "repeat".
Free Music Review: Fantastic CD !! Hit: 5 StarsWow!! This a great recording. Trisha's voice is in fine form, as always. Some fantastic songs that any Trisha fans will enjoy and it's sure to create some new fans. There's not a bad song here.
Free Music Review: The Best is Yet To Come Hit: 5 StarsJasper County is not just good it's great! Trisha Yearwood started out with a hit,and she is still making them.
The song "Georgia Rain" went to number # 1 on the first Jasper County album released, and it has a gentle way of singing about the past and present thoughts and memories of a love long gone.
Other songs such as "Pistol","Who Invented The Wheel", and "River of You" have a more upbeat, but not rock 'N' roll, musical pace with a country flavor of bad relations and heartache.
"Standing Out in a Crowd" is a song most of us can relate to with a country flavor ,and educational as well as grasping lyrics about being different. The best thought is that Standing out in a crowd, instead of shying away,is the best way to be unnoticed.
A few songs may be melodically bluesy, but the country flavor is there. A fictional, yet realistic message in the song and about country music, too.
Finally, the duet with Garth Brooks added on a re-release titled"Love will Always Win" has music that's a winner to the ear(somewhat soft and mellow, but not too much),and topping off the beautiful blend of their voices,it has been nominated for a 2007 Grammy Award.
Free Music Review: a bit of a disappointment Hit: 3 Stars If you are a fan of Trish Yearwood, you probably waited expectantly as I did for her CD. Long a fan of her voice and emotional involvement in her music, I was a bit disappointed. I prefer her ballads and story telling type songs rather than the more modern "harder" country style.
I bought it mainly because of "Jasper County" and her duet with Garth Brooks. Perhaps I should have waited until a "collection of newer hits" came out.
Free Music Review: No love for the fans Hit: 2 StarsI am a big fan of Trisha's music so I bought this CD the first week it came out. I played it once or twice but it just didn't click with me the way her others did. Of course now that she is married to Garth Brooks she has to employ the same marketing gimmicks that he does to get people to buy the same CD more than once. It really irritates me when artists do not take their fans into consideration and add a song to a CD after hundreds of thousands of people have already bought the CD. It's not like you can just buy the one song on iTunes because it's not available. This will most likely be the last CD I ever buy from her. I stopped buying Garth Brooks' music after he re-released every CD he'd ever recorded with a new song on it or with new cover artwork. Enough is enough... artists need to stop making their money off the backs of the working people who need to buy the same CD's multiple times to get the songs they hear on the radio.
