I bought it, I listened to it -- over and over and over and over again. This was my first purchase of Trisha's music since I'm not a huge country fan, but when I learned that it was her singing 'How Do I Live' in the movie Con Air, I had to check out other of her music. I anxiously awaited the delivery of the CD and haven't stopped listening to it since its arrival. No one sings a ballad like Yearwood and it's nice to hear a good voice that's isn't drowned out by too loud music. She comes across crystal clear. Great compilation! This is Trisha's best album! It only includes her HITS, i.e. her most interesting songs. I learned all about her with this album. This album alone shows what kind of vocalist she is. She has this extraordinary vocal ability to bring life and emotion to the lyrics, whether they are energetic songs or thoughtful ballads.
You have to listen to her ballads. No one can sing a ballad like Trisha. The control she has in her voice, the softness, the vibrato, the enunciation of certain words. Trisha just knows how to deliver a ballad. "The Song Remembers When," "How Do I Live," and "Down on My Knees" are perfect examples.
Her upbeat songs are pretty darn good too. "Perfect Love" is powerful and strong. "Wrong Side of Memphis" has the right amount of sass and attitude; I love this song.
This is a must-have for a country fan's music collection! This is the best work from one of country music's best vocalists.

I purchased this CD several years ago and still play it all the time. I've enjoyed it so much I'm giving it as gifts this Xmas.Trisha's voice is pure gold and this is a wonderful collection of timeless songs you'll want to play over and over again. No 'skip-overs'or fillers on this one. You wont' be disappointed if you purchase Songbook!

Trisha is one of country's greatest female singers of the last twenty years. Great songs such as "X's and O's" and "She's in Love With the Boy" have become country classics and made Yearwood a star, and guess what, they have all been combined on a wonderful album of hits, naturally. Trisha Yearwood is one of the first country singers I fell in love with. I remember the summer of 1997, I kept hearing "How Do I Live" and I just played it over and over. It was killing me to wait for this CD to be released! Finally it was in August 1997, and I picked up a copy. SONGBOOK is a collection of 9 of her hits, and 3 new songs. None of the songs from her 1996 album EVERYBODY KNOWS make an appearance here, but maybe a future hits collection will. Early favorites like "She's In Love With The Boy", "Walkaway Joe", "Like We Never Had A Broken Heart", "Wrong Side of Memphis", "Song Remembers When", and others make an appearance. Others include "The Woman Before Me", "Thinkin About You", "XXX's And OOO's (An American Girl)", etc. The blockbuster hit "How Do I Live" is on here as one of the new songs, much better than LeAnn Rimes overemoted version if you ask me. The duet with Garth Brooks, "In Another's Eyes", is a great emotional ballad. And "Perfect Love" was a hit for her, a nice uptempo country song. Overall perfect for any Yearwood fans!
