Free Music Notes for Songbook: A Collection of HitsFree Music Review: Book of Songs Hit: 5 StarsSongbook is the first chapter of Yearwood's career, of her biggest hits. This album features nine of her biggest hits, plus three excellent new songs. While not all of her hits are on here, with a few missing, it covers some of her biggest from She's In Love With the Boy to Thinkin About You, and everything in between. The most notable songs missing are the hits Believe Me Baby (I Lied) and Everybody Knows, among a few. The new songs, are something to talk about. How Do I Live was one of the biggest songs of the summer in 1997, and I don't care what anyone says, Trisha can outsing LeAnn Rimes on this one. LeAnn is missing the true emotion in the song, that Trisha has excellently displayed. In Another's Eyes is a duet ballad with Garth Brooks, their strongest duet ever. And Perfect Love is a fun upbeat song which proved to be a hit for Trisha. Overall this is a nice collection of Trisha's hits, a nice cd to start your collection with if you are a new fan.
Free Music Review: A Very Good Hits Album Hit: 5 StarsTrisha Yearwood's "Songbook", is so full of hits that it's any wonder why Trisha continues to release well rounded and lasting music. "Songbook" brings the albums' "Trisha Yearwood" to "Thinkin' About You" together is one terrific package, easily comparable to Reba McEntire's "Greatest Hits 2" album. Songs like, "Down On My Knees", "The Woman Before Me" and "WalkAway Joe" make a good album great. There are new songs included on the album 3 to be exact, "In Another's Eyes", one more duet with Garth Brooks, but once again they make it work again, and the song "How Do I Live", this song belongs to Trisha even through Leann Rimes has the pop version of this song it's Trisha's version the stands out, and then there is the very bouncy "Perfect Love", this is just a simple song to listen to and to get into your head and keep it there, this song is yet another favorite Trisha songs of mine. Plus Trisha looks good in the video. More songs like "Like We Never Had A Broken Heart", and "She's In Love With the Boy(the song that started it all)" and "Wrong Side Of Memphis"(great song), this is an album that easy to listen to and easy to like, if I had to pick my favorite for this album they would be, "Perfect Love", "Wrong Side Of Memphis", "XXX's and OOO's" and "The Woman Before Me", Trisha put together a very great hits album that really works, there is a couple more songs I forgot to mention "The Song Remembers When" another great song and "Thinkin' About You"(previously mentioned in an earlier review), this is simply a great album from an artist who shows no signs of going away, and as long as Trisha is around country music will be coll to listen to. Trisha is great!
Free Music Review: Stellar "Collection" Hit: 5 StarsAfter amassing a ton of hits over the years, SONGBOOK seemed a long time coming when it arrived in 1997. With this fine collection, Yearwood staked her claim as arguably the finest interpretive singer to emerge in mainstream country in the last decade. Though her first few singles, starting with "She's In Love With The Boy", firmly established her as one to watch, songs like "The Woman Before Me" and "The Song Remembers When" showed off her technically perfect vocal work. Also a plus was the inclusion of "Down On My Knees", only a moderate hit but one that remains her finest moment in a thus far stellar career.
Free Music Review: One Powerful Voice Hit: 5 StarsTrisha Yearwood has a voice that I could listen to all day, everyday, even if she was quoting me car insurance prices. This CD is a great collection of Trisha's songs, ranging from the peppy ("Wrong Side of Memphis") to the powerful ballad ("The Woman Before Me"). Not to be missed are "How Do I Live" (way better than Leann's version), "Perfect Love" (I love to crank this one up in the car!), "She's In Love With The Boy" (so my life), "XXXs and OOOs", "Walkaway Joe" and her duet with Garth Brooks "In Anothers Eyes" (my favorite cuddle song). Get this CD, if you are a fan, it is a great way to have your faves on one disc. If you are not a fan, listen to it and you will be!
Free Music Review: Great! Hit: 4 StarsI remember when this cd was released, late in the summer of 1997. I was waiting anxiously for its release. How Do I Live was in constant rotation on radio and on CMT all summer long and it was so hard waiting for this cd, which might sound strange since this is a Greatest Hits CD, but I was really looking forward to its release, and I wasn't disapointed.First lets start with the beautiful cover photo, she look sso elegant and classy, the perm look is great on Trisha, she looks beautiful. The album starts with the one of the three new songs featured on this cd, How Do I Live, from the movie ConAir, a song that became very popular for Trisha, almost a career song one would say. Next are two big hits for Trisha, the beautiful poignant The Song Remembers When, then the upbeat on your feet song Wrong Side of Memphis. Next song is a duet with Garth Brooks, another new song on this collection, called In Anothers Eyes, which also became a very big hit. The Woman Before Me is the next hit on the cd, a nice tender ballad. Perfect Love is the third new song, coincidently it hit #1 on country charts, the only new upbeat song on the album. The rest of the album contains hits such as Thinkin About You, DOwn On My Knees, Shes In Love With The Boy, Walkaway Joe, XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl) and Like We Never Had A Broken Heart. 12 songs total, 9 hits and 3 new songs which also became hits. It would of been nice to see some other hits on here, like Believe Me Baby (I Lied), Everybody Knows, On A Bus To St. Cloud, etc, but many of these are on the import version of this album, and perhaps with the next greatest hits colleciton these and more will be included. Trisha Yearwood is the most talented female country singer, she may not always get recognition for her talent, but just listen to this and any of her albums and you will release what a true gem she is.
