This is the first No Limit album that I got my hands on back in '95 and it blew me off my chair. This album truly started the No Limit sound for real, but this is far more better than any later album released from that camp. Master P, C-Murder, Silk, King George, Big Ed and Calli G fit each other so perfectly with their individual styles and voices, and when you thought you had heard it all, C-Bo and Mia X pops up to rip the mic apart. The first thought that got to my mind when I listened to this album was that TRU is the West Coast Wu-Tang Clan. I still listen to this album and for every listen I realize that this is the masterpiece that unfortunately no later No Limit album could top. Personally I like the way Silk is rapping here better than the style he has today.The same thing with Big Ed. On this album they all sound much more hungry and out to prove their skills to the world than on their later albums. It's hard to pick any favourite track because there isn't any weak track at all, but Rolling Thru My Hood is one of my favourites here. If you are going to buy any No Limit album, then buy this one. this is the album that made me spend all my money on every record I could find with the NL-logo and featured NL-artists on
