So at the show my good friend and I couldn't help but torture the 15 year old girls who came to a "John Mayer" show. Asking what their favorite songs were and what they wanted to hear that night, then quickly responding with "not gonna happen hunny"
First-you have to know what you are getting into with this album. This isn't John Mayer. And please know who the hell he is workin with, these musicians are well respected individuals and anyone in music today would be honored to work with these two guys.
Pino Palladino on bass-he's recorded with everyone-Eric Clapton, Don Henley, Phil Collins, Chaka Khan. He toured with Jeff Beck, The Who, Simon and Garfunkel!
Steve Jordan-"the funkiest drummer alive"-recorded with Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley, Herbie Hancock-he's been playing with blues acts since the middle 70s.
Basic point is these guys are highly regarded blues musicians.
This album is simply amazing, the live experience was 10x this. Pick up this album and be impressed. This is not your little sister's John Mayer album, he finally has shown what he is capable of.
