Free Music Review: Oh my - Here;s Johnny!
Hit: 5 Stars

This should be called "Promise Kept"! At times it evokes BBK, the ABB, SRV, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Lang, and more. But it's all John Mayer. I downloaded this last night and then bought the CD this morning. This grabbed me from the first song, and gave me shivers. First new CD to get me excited in a long time. If you like good blues rock guitar, don't hesitate. If you like his pop songs, I can't help you. If you ever wondered why EC invited John Mayer to the Crossroads Guitar Festival, this should put that to rest. In case you could not tell, I really liked this. This one is destined to get worn out in all my players. Nice....

Free Music Review: Finally...
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is without a doubt fantastic. Mayer has finally shown the world what I have always known about him. He's a fantastic guitarist. And with Pallandino and Jones to back him up he really lets loose what he can do. The solos are mindblowingly awesome. My personal favorite is the opening track, "Who do you think I was?". To me it just seems a poignant statement to what this album is all about. Get rid of all your preconceived notions of John Mayer, this boy has put on a new coat and he is very much comfortable in it. Watch this space all you guitar musos cause I think we may have found our newest hero to follow.

Free Music Review: PERFECT!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

In my opinion John Mayer has 2 perfect albums, this and "inside wants out". Mayer is an extrordinary song writer but he is first and foremost a guitar player. In 20 years hopefully he will be known as "the guitar player" of our generation. This cd is huge, its emotional, its technically sound and it is traditional blues but its not 11 identical songs. That is where he might have the 1 up on Stevie Ray. I'm just glad John Alagia didn't ruin this album like he nearly did with room for squares. Three cheers for John Mayer for being the musician he wants to be and the one he is capable of being. Fanstastic album!

Free Music Review: Mayer Proves Versatile Once Again
Hit: 5 Stars

Unlike his previous studio albums which feature mainly vocal driven soft rock tunes, this album totally flies in the face of John's pop image. With his growing reputation among guitarists as a formitable player, he displays his blues chops fabulously. The pop-oriented listener will appreciate the easy tone and vocals of the songs, while the guitarists out there enjoy the melodic riffs and growling solos.
John Mayer stays true to both his mellow style and guitar oriented chops, paying homage to Jimi Hendrix and Ray Charles, with hints of SRV in his leads. This is a great album that anyone can appreciate.

Free Music Review: Great material from the John Mayer Trio
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a wonderful new album by John Mayer and his all-star trio. First of all, there is none of the crap with copywrite protection that Sony has on all of their other cds now (Where you can't burn it onto your iPod) so you can listen to this cd anywhere :-) I love how different these tracks are from most of Mayer's other stuff (at least his well-known radio hits "Your Body Is A Wonderland" and "Daughters." I highly recommend this cd to anyone who likes blues, rock, or any of John Mayer's other stuff. Also, the sound is very good if anyone was wondering, considering all of the tracks are live recordings.
