Free Music Review: Quit the hatin'
Hit: 5 Stars

Here's what you all should do. First off, run out and buy this album. And right before you put the cd in ur cd player take all comparisons out of your head... And take it for what it is. It's john mayer's attempt at the blues. He's playing what he likes, which means his heart and soul is into it. If you can't see that and appreciate it, you're right for not liking it. Blues isn't about playing sick guitar phrases and riffs, it's about putting every ounce of your heart into the music, your personality and your soul. That's exactly what john did. and he did it well. John is an incredible artist, with tremendous talent. Any john mayer fan will see that and love this cd. it probably won't appeal to the casual fan, but then again...that's not really who it's for.

Free Music Review: Best thing I've heard in years
Hit: 5 Stars

I was there when the three man band hit the airwaves. Hendrix, Cream and a host of others both big and insignificant. This album is huge! Brought me right back to the first time I ever heard a three man band. Mayer is gritty and fills in the sound with his whole chrord, note, trill thing he has going on. The interplay between him and Palladino will bring back memories of Clapton and Jack Bruce but it's not as combative, more of an understanding interplay. Mayer struggles a little with his innovation...trying too hard... but it will come. The album is as raw a sound as I've heard since I was a kid and how a 'kid' like Mayer, born so long after the fact, is able to capture so well the entire feel of the live cranked show is beyond me. Go Johnny go...

Free Music Review: Jaw dropping guitar fest
Hit: 5 Stars

For starters, I'll have to agree with the reviewer that said John Mayer Trio sounds like Stevie Ray Vaughan reincarnated. From the first note to the last, I have been caught up and moved by the soulful singing, tight rhythms and incredible guitar work on Try! It's been living in my car CD player and playing nearly nonstop on my portable player since I got it. I'm not sure why some of the reviewers had a problem with the sound quality on the CD. I thought the sound was good throughout.

Regardless of what you think of John Mayer's other offerings, give this CD a chance (I could be cute and say "Try!"). John Mayer Trio has made me want to pick up a guitar again for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Free Music Review: Paying attention Now!
Hit: 5 Stars

My friends listen to John Mayer. I heard his music through them. I liked the music but it didn't reach my soul. I actually didn't pay much attention. I was flipping through the TV Channels late one night and caught a PBS concert. This guy was playing the guitar like Stevie Ray Vaughn. I didn't even recognize this guy as John Mayer. I love Stevie Ray Vaughn and was so impressed with the talent of this guitar player. At the end of the concert I realized it was John Mayer.
The next day I told my co-worker who is a big John Mayer fan and she said to listen to John Mayer Trio. I immediately bought the CD. This music has touched my soul, deeply. This albumn is outstanding! I am a John Mayer fan for life!

Free Music Review: SUPERMAN
Hit: 5 Stars

Whoever thinks John Mayer isn't a great guitarist oughta get ther head outta their a*#. This guy is a brilliant blues guitarist, step aside Buddy Guy......you've got nothing on this kid. Just like a fellow reviewer pointed out, John's critics are the same people who knocked on Stevie Ray......people just won't give the new kid a chance, regardless of how good he may sound. Just listen to his virtuosity on "outta my mind", the guy just tears it up. I live for hot guitar playing and John Mayer is an absolutely wonderful guitarist. His voice still may be a bit immature.......but the guy gives me chills. He's the most promising 20 something out there, and he's already delivered a LOT so far. THE REAL DEAL
