Free Music Notes for Twilight SoundtrackFree Music Review: fabulous, evocative and haunting- just like the book Hit: 5 Stars
This is probably the best soundtrack album since 'Romeo + Juliet'. Every track is a winner and the music works so well in the film. other reviewers have appeared surprised by the 'dark tone' of the music. You shouldn't be. Look at the play lists that Stephenie Meyer puts in the front of her books and you will see this is the stuff that inspires her. However, I also don't think it really is that dark at all...dimly illuminated perhaps but not really throw-yourself-in-the-abyss dark. Nothing to frighten the horses!
If, like me, you particularly enjoyed the sublime Blue Foundation track 'Eyes of Fire' (the song that Bella plays on her ipod in the film just before almost getting hit by the truck) and have been searching for back catalogue from Blue foundation, you might have come up against either hideously priced 2nd handers ($100+) or drawn a blank. I have been searching and found you can purchase their cd's from their own website www.02.bluefoundation.dk (they are danish, hence the DK). they will ship internationally as many of their cd's don't have an international release YET.
Free Music Review: Listen to it every day! Hit: 5 Stars
At first I wasn't really sure about most of the songs on this album--- particularly the Muse track (as the whiney voice really turned me off). However, I still had to wait a week before the movie came out and I had time to kill so I listened to it over and over. You know, it REALLY grew on me and now I listen to it from beginning to end without skipping any of the songs. (OK sometimes I skip Rob's song, but that song really doesn't fit!)
My absolute favorites are Paramore's "Caught Myself" and the Blue Foundation song. I can (and have) listened to them over and over again.
The Muse song is now super fun (particularly after seeing the movie-- it was used in my fave scene in the movie-- the baseball scene). The Linkin Park song is nice, as is the other Paramore song. I could do without the Perry Farrel song, but oh well, it's there and so I listen to it ;)
I really love this album even though it took me a few listens to really get into it. Had it been any other soundtrack (I'm obsessed with TW!), I probably wouldn't have given it this much attention ;)
Free Music Review: This is an excellent soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
The best songs on this soundtrack are the two tracks by Paramore. These songs rock. Lead singer Hayley Williams provides excellent vocals on the songs "Decode" and "I Caught Myself". "Supermassive Black Hole" is another song that is very good. The singer of this band has an unusually high voice, but it sounds cool. "Tremble For My Beloved" is a great tune from Collective Soul. This is a beautiful love song and one of my favorites. I love the violin playing on the track "Full Moon". "Flightless Bird" is a slow but prettty song by Iron and Wine. "Eyes on Fire" is yet another slow song. This song has a sensual quality that I like though. "Leave Out All The Rest" by Linkin Park is another one of my favorites. This song is sad but very romantic. I will conclude this review with Bella's theme. The piano playing gives me chicken skin. It is absolutely lovely. I really like the music on this soundtrack. I can't wait to see the movie.
Free Music Review: Not Sure About the Movie, but the Soundtrack is a Winner Hit: 5 Stars
I've never read the books and wasn't as impressed as I'd expected to be with the movie, but the soundtrack is a gem.
The new Paramore track, "Caught Myself," is probably that band's best work to date. Mute Math, a smaller band that hasn't made many waves yet, turns in an amazing mix of their single "Spotlight." Some of the less bombastic tracks, such as the Iron and Wine song, are simply beautiful.
Not all of the material here is new--Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole," for instance, and Linkin Park's "Leave Out All the Rest," are previously released tracks. (The Radiohead track that plays over the credits, "15 Step," isn't included on this album.)
If you like "Bella's Lullaby" by Carter Burwell, definitely check out the full-length score and his past work, notably the Fur soundtrack.
Free Music Review: Twiight Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
The Twilight soundtrack is one of the best film soundtracks I have heard in a very long time. I loved nearly each song and they fit with all the key scenes in Catherine Hardwicke's fantastic adapation of my favorite book.
Paramore's Decode is not to be missed...much like Muse's Supermassive Black Hole (of course!), Mutemath's Spotlight, Flightless Bird, by Iron and Wine...I could go on. Also not to be missed is Robert Pattinson's Never Think which is haunting and moving and fits so well in the restaurant scene in the film. Anyone who has heard Rob sing knows that this song alone is worth purchasing the soundtrack for!
