Free Music Review: This CD so rocks!

I first heard of Tyler Hilton from the August 2004 issue of Popstar! Magazine and didn't know who he was, but he sounded kind of interesting. Not so interesting, however, that I would look him up online. I unknowingly saw him on One Tree Hill as Chris, and thought he was quite cute, and had a good voice. In the end credits, I saw his CD and heard the song he'd been singing on the show (his single "When It Comes"), and was like, "Oh, I've heard of him... that's cool." Still, it was not enough to get me to become a fan of him. Then one of his apparently loyal fans - and fellow E-team member - rickys_onlyangel88 or something like that, sent his official player to one of the Yahoo groups I'm in, and I'd wanted to find out more about him anyway, so I checked him out, and I was instantly hooked. I love his style of music, and I'm totally glad to have this CD.
1. When It Comes - This is a really cool song. I often wonder what "hooptie" means, but that doesn't change how good the song is. I'd say it's in the middle range in terms of how soft or harder the rock is.
2. The Letter Song - This is a more upbeat song, and I can kind of relate to it because I write my best friend letters a lot, and I love him but I'm just a friend to him.
3. Glad - I love how the choruses change as the song goes on. I think it's like he's telling the girl that he's right in front of her - that he'd be her "something special" - and asking her if she's glad bout that. Anyway, it's another cool song.
4. Rolling Home - Oh I love the beginning train sound, then the soft guitar... and of course I like the lyrics too. He's just talking about how he's on a rolling home with the tour bus.
5. Pink and Black - This is an interesting song. Again, I love how the choruses change, and I just love the whole concept of that he should go get the girl back because he lost her somehow.
6. Our Time - While I like this song, I'm not sure I get what he's saying. I'll have to listen to it again. Just for more info, the chorus ends with "I'll always remember the way that we cared for our time."
7. Kiss On - Ah yes, Kiss On. This is probably the most upbeat song on the album. He's just saying that he and a girl will "secretly enjoy" their time and it doesn't matter who she's "kissing on at midnight" or any other time, because basically, it's just them. A very cool song.
8. Slide - I love the intro to this song. Again, I'm sure of the meaning, so you'd have to listen yourself. (The CD's so worth it!!)
9. You, My Love - This is my favorite song on the album. It's also the longest (about 6 minutes and 15 seconds) but that's good for me because I love the song. My favorite lines are probably "nonexistence seemed like nothing, my love" and "God was there to pass me you, my love". It's just so awesome to think about this song because I love it so much!
10. Insomnia - This is a pretty sad (not bad, obviously, just sad) song. He says how much he misses a girl that broke up with him because he smoked and he wasn't "that better one" for her.
11. Picture Perfect - Simply GREAT to end the CD. I'm pretty sure this song means that the girl he wants is with someone else, but he'll run away with her eventually and that other person will see he should have let him take her in the first place, because she already let him know she's his.
So, it's an awesome CD, and like someone else said, it's a good one to get if you're looking for new music. Tyler Hilton rocks!!
