Free Music Review: Just my "Type O" collection.
Hit: 4 Stars

For me, the casual fan, this is a great cd. Basically it's a greatest hits album, and even though alot of it has different versions and mixes, it's still excellent. I love the songs "Everyone I love is Dead" and "Love You to Death". Also they cover Black Sabbath's "Black Sabbath", Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl", and Hendrix's "Hey Joe", kind of. They all get the goth-metal makeover. Plus one of the last tracks is the epic "Unsuccessfully Coping With the Natural Beauty of Infidelity". One of the things I like most about "Type O Negative", is that alot of their songs are really dramatic, and Pete Steele's deep voice of course. I just wish I got into them sooner. This will go great between your "Sisters of Mercy" and "Black Sabbath" cd's.

Free Music Review: Nice greatest hits package
Hit: 4 Stars

Its no secret that Type O Negative is an acquired taste of music, but this greatest hits collection should be enough reason to persuade new listeners. Classics like "Black No.1" and "Christian Woman", even though they've been shortened are still great, while new tracks "12 Black Rainbows" and "Its Never Enough" are stand alone songs. Also worth noting is the cover of Black Sabbath's "Black Sabbath" from Type O's contribution to the original Nativity in Black album, only the lyrics are from the perspective of Satan, which instantly makes the song worth listening to. All in all, I would recommend new listeners to start with "Bloody Kisses", but this greatest hits package is a good pickup for fans and new listeners as well.

Free Music Review: Respect from a non metal music connosisseur
Hit: 4 Stars

If you're a casual TON listener like me, then this should be right up your ally. The basic TON essentials are here with titles such as "Black No.1" "Love You To Death" "Christian Woman" and "Everyone I Know is Dead. I'm not a big metal person but there's something about TON's music that keeps me listening. I think the fact that I've keept them in heavy rotation for so long says something about how good they really are. Maybe it's their gothic mystique or Peter Steele's voice that keeps me coming back. earthier way, they've withstood the test of time. If you're just getting into TON I would pick this album up first. It's not really an album, more of a collection....anyway, this is a great introduction to TON to get a soild feel for what they offer. give it a spin!

Free Music Review: Yummy.
Hit: 4 Stars

I really wanted to give this cd a 5 star rating because I am a huge Type O Negative fan but it missed it by a hair. The reason? The short versions of their songs are on this cd. I would have really enjoyed a double cd set with the 12 minuite versions of some of their songs, but alas, only the 4 min versions of songs like Christian Woman and Black No 1 are here. Thank god Unsuccessfully Coping was left complete! Never the less, if you are a Type O fan, having this cd is a great addition, putting their all time best on one cd, plus the addition of 4 new tracks makes it worth it. For anyone interested in Type O this would be a great starting point because it combines some of their much harder music with the newer, darker, broodier format they have adopted.

Free Music Review: die hard fan
Hit: 4 Stars

I have been listening to TON since they appeared in 1991, before that I listened to Peter Steele's other bands "Carnivore" and "Subzero". This is an excellent CD for any die hard TON fan and for someone just trying to figure out their style. All of their CD'S are different but at the same time somewhat the same. This compilation is an awesome representation of all of their styles of music. I was however extremely disappointed that the song "Suspended In Dusk" wasn't included. It just so happens to be the only song from TON I don't have... and can't seem to find. They also put on an amazing live show. I reccomend buying every CD they have and will put out. If you have the chance to see them live don't pass it up.
