Free Music Review: One Of The Greatest "Live" Albums Of All Time
Hit: 5 Stars

There are a lot of people who don't know about Type O Negative's sense of humor and take them way to seriously. "Origin Of The Feces" is the album for those people. This live album is up there with NOFX's "I Heard They Suck Live".
"Origin Of The Feces" is actually better than their studio album "Slow, Deep, And Hard" which is where all the songs are from, except "Hey Joe" and "Paranoid". The crowd is quite hostile toward the band, persistently shout out negative comments, and throw beer bottles at the band members. The crowd alone makes this album worth listening to along with Peter Steel's comebacks for their insults. The most hilarious part of the album is when Steele announces they're playing their last song and the audience breaks out in applause for the first time.
The songs on the album have the excess trimmed off and are executed more clearly. Steele's voice comes across more emotional than any of their other albums, much deeper in the slow parts, and rougher during the fast parts.
It was a really big disappointment when I heard this was a fake live album. I had my suspicions because the music was to clear and well played. I also knew a crowd could never be that clever and humorous. But the fact that it's fake still doesn't bother me and the album was worth every penny I paid for it and then some. Type O Negative's humor is genius, but maybe I could be mistaking it for a lack of talent.

Free Music Review: Hey Pete Where Are You Going With That Axe?
Hit: 5 Stars

This early dark and excellent piece of work finally completed my Type O collection. Even though it is ten years old it explains the complex metamorphosis this band went through to come full circle to be what it is now which is the same, but only better.
The whole album is great, especially the covers of Hey Joe (Hey Pete), Paranoid, I know you're F******* someone else, and Kill You Tonight (good song to listen to after you've read Death of A Salesman and got fired!). You have to hear this cd very loud; otherwise you'll loose some of its effect. I agree with some of the reviews that after hearing this cd, Slow Deep and Hard is not as effective anymore, but it's part of the collection right?
It is all done in sinister humor, and is not meant to be taken literally. It's all in good bloody fun, and touches everyone on some level, although most people loathe admitting it. No one really wants to talk about death, blood, hate, anger, and not coping with reality. Enjoy!!!

Free Music Review: ok lets get this over with
Hit: 5 Stars

well ill be honest...the original cover art for this album kept me from buying it for five years but when i finally did...i was not dissapointed and any true Type O fan will not be either. The other reviewer is correct tho this is not a true live album...but i have seen them live and this is a good representation of that experience. Its hard to call this one goth because the Carnivore element is still in there a little bit...kind of an 80s guitar sound. But the classics from Slow Deep And Hard sound great "live" on this CD. Including the mysterious and sudden english accent towards the end of " kill you tonight",rumored in the Massachusettes area to be a poke at Al Jougenson's faux british accent, but I dont believe that really.Trivia aside buy this one it is well worth it, especially without the original cover art hahahahah

Free Music Review: A great album
Hit: 5 Stars

The Type O Negative Orgin cd is personaly my favorite Type O Negative cd. If you liked the Slow Deep and Hard cd and if you like the Bloody Kisses cd than you will most likely like this one. You can really see the transformation of the two very different styles they play on this cd. They have to old stuff such as "I Know Your F_cking Someone Else" and then they have there cover of Hey Joe only titled Hey Pete. I like this cd because it has my favorite old Type O Negative material plus it has the two really good cover songs. But you have to like the the songs such as Bloody Kisses(a death in the family) and Love you to Death to really get in to the cover songs on this album. It is a very good cd one of my favs in my collection. So if your a Type O fan or just someone who wants a to check them out this is a great cd to own.

Free Music Review: Not live at brighton beach
Hit: 5 Stars

as many of you may have your doubt to this 'live' album.
The band decide to fake a live album by playing their set poorly under one microphone in the studio, while overdubbing pseudo-crowd noises generated by neighborhood.

The record, Origin Of The Feces, was initially released with a cover photo of a lamprey, but once K-mart staffers inspected the cover more closely, it was in reality, a close-up of Steele's anus.

Good Album but i'll be sticking to October rust and bloody Kisses.
