Free Music Review: Bring It On Down....
Hit: 5 Stars

World Coming Down, the Brooklyn metallers fourth full length studio effort, is probably their most powerful album yet. The subject matter and lyrics of the songs take a more serious and depressing approach than before and this is also reflected in the slow, gloomy and morbid music. The guitar and bass seem to create a very suffocating atmosphere while the powerful drums and ambient keyboards give an uplifting feel to most of the songs. The album isn't as eclectic as some of their earlier albums, but that doesn't mean it isnt diverse. From the gothic-doom-metal of White Slavery, to the happy/jazzy Save The Sane to the motown soul of Everything Dies, Type O Negative have conquered even more musical terrain. Some of the riffs are reminiscent of Black Sabbath, but the Beatlesque melody is still very much inherent. In fact, the album closes with a hard hitting metallic medley of three beatles songs.

All in all, this is yet another impressive Type O Negative album, expanding their musical versatality while mantaining their special Type O vibe. You cant just hear their music, you must experience it.

Standout tracks: Everyone I Love Is Dead, Creepy Green Light, Pyretta Blaze (awesome guitar solo in there!)

Free Music Review: Truly an awesome album!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok i never really got into T.O.N.,when i was 13 years old i remember loving the mortal combat soundtrack, and loved the song Blood and Fire(Out of the ashes mix) and went to the store to check out thr cd's and boy they looked freaky at the time, seeing bloody kisses freaked me out, though i was 13 at the time. Years later though, one day i flipped through the mtv2, and wow, the video of everything dies came on, and before they said who was playing i knew who it was, because of his voice, i'd never forget Pete's voice, so after the video [...] i ran downt [...] and bought the cd, first i read the lyrics and thought, man these are pretty rough for my taste, [...], but i then understood the feel and how far ud go for it, and loved every trac on the cd, i listened to it over and over again, until i then tracked down thr other cd's. This is simply magnificent, an honest piece of work, great riffs, harmonies, blah blah blah, it rocks, rock on get this album. Stay Negative!!!! P.S. Hope this didnt bore u, i just wanted to share my thoughts about it.

Free Music Review: Everyone should know . . . . .
Hit: 5 Stars

. . .If you don't yet own TON's latest recording, you should be burned at the stake. This was the album that I had been anxiouly awaiting hitherto "October Rust" was released. But OR turned out to have an over-produced and somnambulistic nature that I found unspeakably hideous. It lacked Pete's idiosyncratic sardonic wit. It wasn't as guitar-driven as TON's first two recordings. Half the tracks had torturously long builds that subsequently came to nothing. The other tracks were too keyboard-driven and phlegmatic sounding. To anyone who found OR even remotely enjoyable; for all of us conected with reality, this should suggest an immediate trip to a shrink. But "World Coming Down" easily makes up for OR. My favorite track is "All Hallows Eve," which I think is one of TON's best songs yet. It's basically "Bloody Kisses" without the keyboards. But what really makes this album so satisfying, is that it proudly holds it's head up as a maverick in the face of music's dire boy group/hip-hop Zeitgeist.

Free Music Review: World Coming Down...should've been more appreciated by labels and re-released like Bloody Kisses.
Hit: 5 Stars

In my honest opinion this is one of the most under-rated albums of TON. Despite the fact that Skip It is a funny opener, I believe the other interludes make for a slow and bumpy ride on what should've been one of the best TON albums to date. I think the band's label should have shown this album the same treatment as Bloody Kisses did (and the version of that album that I purchased) by eliminating all interludes and adding bonus tracks in between, instead.

TON (or any fan) if you're listening, try this playlist on for size:

1) White Slavery
2) Everyone I Love is Dead
3) Who Will Save the Sane?
4) World Coming Down
5) Creepy Green Light
6) Everything Dies
7) Pyretta Blaze
8) Stay Out of My Dreams *
9) All Hallows Eve
10) [Day Tripper (Medley)]
*Bonus track

All in a nice digipak or special casing perhaps?

I give this album a 5, because the songs without the interludes really make for an excellent album.

Free Music Review: Not their best....but close to it...
Hit: 5 Stars

World Coming Down is Type O Negative's fourth full length release and a regression in their established melodic/heavy sound. October Rust was the final stage in the Type O Negative musical progression, but with this album they have seemed to go back to a sound which falls somewhere in between Slow Deep and Hard and Bloody Kisses. The album contains sludgy and dark riffs, pounding drums, highly distorted bass lines and ambient doors-like keyboards. The formula seems to work for the most part, with songs like Everyone I Love is Dead, Creepy Green Light, Who Will Save the Sane and Pyretta Blaze being amongst the bands best. However, some of the songs are a bit too dark and slow for my liking, case in point, White Slavery and All Hallows Eve. The best part of the album seems to be the sheer honesty in which it was written. Peter really pours his emotion into the songs. I wouldnt call World Coming Down the bands best worlk (its a toss up between BK and OR) but fans of TON would certainly like this one.
