Free Music Notes for World Coming DownFree Music Review: Slow, Depressing but with inner passion and feeling.. Hit: 4 StarsPeter Steele and co have brought out a selection of classic albums and songs over the years however, none of their albums has the emotion and feeling of World Coming Down. As someone who has recently lost family members in a tragic accident, songs like "Everything Dies" and "Everyone I love is Dead" fill me with the knowledge that others suffer the same as myself. It helps you continue. Music really is a great outlet for life and Type O Negative are the best band for depressed people. Quote from Peter "Ever since Betty died.. I've had a feeling of sadness with me... a feeling which will last forever"... you have to feel sympathy for peter steele.
Free Music Review: Great Album....But Not the Best Hit: 4 StarsAlthough the album contains many great songs, there aren't many slower songs that have more feeling. To me the album sounded like T.O.N. was being influenced to change their sound for this album. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying this is a bad record if you are a fan of true rock/metal music then definitly get this album but if your hoping for some good 'ol Type O Negative this may not be the album you are looking for. Keep Rockin'
Free Music Review: Truly an awesome album!!! Hit: 5 StarsOk i never really got into T.O.N.,when i was 13 years old i remember loving the mortal combat soundtrack, and loved the song Blood and Fire(Out of the ashes mix) and went to the store to check out thr cd's and boy they looked freaky at the time, seeing bloody kisses freaked me out, though i was 13 at the time. Years later though, one day i flipped through the mtv2, and wow, the video of everything dies came on, and before they said who was playing i knew who it was, because of his voice, i'd never forget Pete's voice, so after the video [...] i ran downt [...] and bought the cd, first i read the lyrics and thought, man these are pretty rough for my taste, [...], but i then understood the feel and how far ud go for it, and loved every trac on the cd, i listened to it over and over again, until i then tracked down thr other cd's. This is simply magnificent, an honest piece of work, great riffs, harmonies, blah blah blah, it rocks, rock on get this album. Stay Negative!!!! P.S. Hope this didnt bore u, i just wanted to share my thoughts about it.
Free Music Review: My personal favorite from Type O Hit: 5 StarsThis was my first taste of Type O Negative. I didnt truly know what to expect, but when you find a cd of a band you want to try on clearance at your head shop for 7 bucks, you dont pass up. On my first listen, I wasnt too impressed. Everything seemed way too sluggish for my tastes, especially White Slavery. After a few listens, I noticed how truly great this band was. The way they mix such depressing topics (love lost, death and drug addiction) with such beautiful melody was something that made me appreciate them more. Pete Steele is without doubt one of my favorite vocalists of all time, mixing such a cynical sense of humor with his deep and beautiful singing. The rest of the band is equally good, especially Kenny Hickman, chugging out heavy rhythms on his guitar, backed by Johnny Kelly's impressive drumming and Josh Silver's keyboards, which give the songs an even more unique flavor. My favorite tracks on the cd include "Everyone I Love..","Everything Dies," "Creepy Green Light", "White Slavery," and "Pyretta Blaze." "Everything Dies" has such a beautiful melody and lyrics that I can relate to; my first listen to it brought tears to my eyes. This cd doesnt stray too far from my changer, nor do the rest of their albums. One of the most talented and unique bands playing today. A must have!
Free Music Review: Not their best....but close to it... Hit: 5 StarsWorld Coming Down is Type O Negative's fourth full length release and a regression in their established melodic/heavy sound. October Rust was the final stage in the Type O Negative musical progression, but with this album they have seemed to go back to a sound which falls somewhere in between Slow Deep and Hard and Bloody Kisses. The album contains sludgy and dark riffs, pounding drums, highly distorted bass lines and ambient doors-like keyboards. The formula seems to work for the most part, with songs like Everyone I Love is Dead, Creepy Green Light, Who Will Save the Sane and Pyretta Blaze being amongst the bands best. However, some of the songs are a bit too dark and slow for my liking, case in point, White Slavery and All Hallows Eve. The best part of the album seems to be the sheer honesty in which it was written. Peter really pours his emotion into the songs. I wouldnt call World Coming Down the bands best worlk (its a toss up between BK and OR) but fans of TON would certainly like this one.
