Free Music Review: 1987 at it's best

As UDO's first solo album, this one is definitely the one to start a career off with. It has a fantastic group of extremely talented german musicians, and the songwriting is mostly done by Accept. I personally have never found any other of UDO's solo albums to reach a level of guitar playing quality, that is demostrated on this one. Peter Szigeti and Mattias Dieth were at their best on this - as demonstrated by some of incredible double tracking of the solos (in minor 5ths and thirds)all the while flawlessly shreading through elaborately picked scales and arpeggios. But, guitar virtuosity is usually not enough to completely sell me on a CD. This one has great songs, that are extremely well crafted and composed for that era of music, and the production captures the sound of that era in top form. If you like UDO, you really should own this album.
