Free Music Review: One of my favorite records
Hit: 5 Stars

Easily U2's finest hour. This record is much more interesting to me than Joshua Tree. It's refreshing to see that U2 was not afraid to try something totally different. After all they had a successful formula with their anthemic arena rock style going for them in the 80's. Here they tear all of that down with a wrecking ball. You can immediately sense a transformation from the first opening bars of Zoo Station. I'd have to say that this is definitely some of the Edge's best work. If I could achieve his guitar sound during his solo on The Fly I would salivate at the mouth...Bono is very convincing here as well. He sounds like he's having a party on songs like Even Better than the Real Thing & Mysterious Ways, but also sings with such feeling and compassion on songs like One & So Cruel. Easily one of the best record's of the 90's.

Free Music Review: Follow up to Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum
Hit: 4 Stars

Nothing beats The Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum for U2. This is the next release after Rattle and Hum and comes closest to rival Joshua Tree. Their popularity was on a quick rise after Rattle and Hum and Achtung Baby just brought U2 to absolute main stream. Great tunes, great songs. Definitely worth the buy. Definitely most artistic album I think.

Free Music Review: U2's greatest work!
Hit: 5 Stars

Achtung Baby is simply U2's best work to date. Why? Because with Achtung Baby, the band experimented with a new sound inspired by David Bowie and they sounded just as good (if not better) than they previously did!

"Even Better Than The Real Thing" has some of the Edge's finest guitar work. Bono sounds good and his lyrics are very crafty. For example: "You're honey child to a swarm of bees, gonna blow right through you like a breeze." "One" is simply the greatest song ever written. It is flawless! Just listen...words can't do it justice. "Wild Horses" has some of Bono's greastest lyrics and some of the most unique sounding guitar riffs. "Mysterious Ways" is so catchy and again has some very original guitar riffs.

I could go on and on about how great each and every song is, but we'd be here all night. Let me say that this is one of the few albums in my collection that I can listen to from start to finish without pressing the skip button on my discman.

Free Music Review: The Greatest Album Of All Time?
Hit: 5 Stars

First and foremost, yes I know its a bold statement, but I dare anyone to to find a better album that has stood the test of time. Achtung Baby sounds as fresh today as it was when it was released in late 1991. Few have pointed out this fact: it was a huge and highly commercial success in the mainstream as it was on the college/indie radio stations, I know this fact cause I worked for the local college station between 1992-1995 and we got alot of request and faxes for this album. If you havnt got this album, then you are really missing out on near perfect music. On a personal note, this album really changed my life, especially in a sexaul way, sex and love(fidelity) are the prime topics on this album. There are so many standout tracks on this album eg;"Even better than the real thing", "One","Mysterious Ways", but you should check out "Who's gonna ride your wild horses?" and the beautiful "Ultraviolet(Light My Way)". This is a must have for any music lover and especially a U2 fan. Not only did it sound great when played, but when the band took it on tour(ZOO TV), it really made me appreciate this album more, but most importantly, solidified U2 as one of the greatest of all time.

Free Music Review: My Favorite Album of the 90's
Hit: 5 Stars

What a great record!!! It might not be the best of the decade, but it was my favorite. And hey, that's all the matters.

This is by far my favorite u2 album. I do enjoy them as a band, and I put them in my top 10 groups of all time, but I haven't really enjoyed them as much since this release. They still rock, but "Achtung Baby" is when these guys were untouchable.

"Zoo Station" is a great lead off track, it's such a funky tune and still has some great lyrics. "Even Better than the Real Thing" and "Mysterious Ways" are both hits that you can dance to, which was unheard of for a u2 song before this album came out. They both rock, especially "Mysterious Ways". It made me start paying attention to Adam Clayton, their bassist, who I thought before this record was a good player, but nothing spectacular.

"One" is probably my favorite u2 song ever. It's just perfectly written, it's been 15 years since I heard it and I still get chills sometimes listening to it....now THAT'S music!!!

I was shocked when I heard "Until the End of the World" because it was so un-U2 like. It is a great rocker, but nothing compares to the "FLY"....WOW!!!! Edge's best guitar work, that man is a guitar genius. It's just one of the coolest songs I've ever heard.

There are some others that I really like on here that weren't hits. "Acrobat" is incredible, as is "Ultraviolet". All the songs on here are good, just get the CD!!

u2 are not the greatest musicians in the world, and definetly not the best improvisors in the game. But they are based and run on emotion, and when their good, they own a uniqueness in rock music that is so original. Rock legends.
