Sick of wearing their hearts on their sleeves, U2 takes a walk along the crevices of darkness throughout "Achtung Baby." Gone are the grand political statements from "War." Spirituality goes on hiatus. Love is questioned, instead of celebrated.
You can almost hear the moisture dripping from the cave walls Bono seems to be crawling through. Edge's signature echo box is replaced with watery snare drums and gluey bass lines. Not exactly angry rock... more desparate soul searching.
Take the ride. Travel into the darkness with U2.

This is a phenomenal album from U2. The only question is what songs are not awesome. The answer is that the following are the only songs that are merely respectable: Acrobat and Love, which are the last 2 songs. Every other song is great.
