Free Music Notes for U218 SinglesFree Music Review: Could have been better Hit: 4 StarsThis is a good compilation, thought it's quite incomplete, even for a single disc. It should have looked like this:
I Will Follow
Sunday Bloody Sunday
New Year's Day (the full version, not the single)
Pride
Where the Streets Have No Name
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
With or Without You
Desire
One
Mysterious Ways
Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
Staring at the Sun
Beautiful Day
Stuck in a Moment
Elevation
Vertigo
Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own
If you want something more complete (and who wouldn't), you should go for the two previous compilations: Best of 1980-1990, and Best of 1990-2000.
Free Music Review: Solid Hit: 4 StarsGreat collection of some of their better known works, and a few not as well known. Serious U2 fans will probably have issues with the CD, but for those of us that just want to hit the high spots this is a great choice.
Free Music Review: All the great songs on 1 disc! Hit: 5 StarsI have enjoyed U2 and their work for years; but it's always been a pain to sort through all the CD's for my favorites. This CD solves that problem very nicely!
Free Music Review: U2 18 Singles Hit: 5 StarsU2 has sold more records than any other recording artist except the Beatles. What's all the fuss about? This greatest hits record gives a good one-disk summary of this band's creations. They rock. Even if you don't know or care about their Christian philosophy that is suffused through the lyrics, it's hard not to notice that there is something different about this band. This is a comprehensive introduction into their world.
Free Music Review: U2 Greatest Hits are Good - U2 Albums are Great Hit: 4 StarsLove the CD but in all honesty - U2 is an album band. "The Unforgettable Fire", "The Joshua Tree" and "Achtung Baby" are possibly the greatest 3 albums by one band - ever. Each is a greatest hits - each is a movie! Early U2 ("War") and later albums ("All That You Can't Leave Behind") are also end-to-end classics. In my view, when Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois are involved with the production - U2 rivals the Beatles. So if you're new to U2 I highly recommend the listed albums - especially "The Unforgettable Fire"...something to listen to on a great system and without any disturbances. But settling for second best - U2 18 Singles is Ok too!
