This CD has all the great hits that you've heard on a radio, for 1 price. I've been waiting for this type of U2 cd to hit the shelfs and now, it's available.
Great track selection, and it's one of those cd's where you just push it into your player, and just let it play either in track order, or on random.
But there is still 1 more song out there that they should have added ( least im my opinion. ) Bullet the Blue Sky.
If your a U2 fan, then this should be in your collection. If you like U2, and haven't bought a cd of these to add to your collection ... This is the cd to get.

Free Music Review: Solid Primer For Beginners, But Hardcore Fans Will Nitpick.

Quite possibly the finest rock band to emerge in the last 25 years or so, U2 have masssed an amazing musical catalogue that contains some of the absolute finest rock classics ever recorded, on par with the likes of The Beatles, The Who and Led Zeppelin.
For a band with as impressive a history as U2, when it comes to choosing tracks for a "greatest hits" or "best of" compilation, it is a daunting task. The first two attempts were the separately sold "1980-1990" and "1990-2000". Both those cds received mixed reactions from fans but overall sewrved as well as good samplers for beginning or casual fans.
As of 2007, U2 are heading towards the 30 year mark as a band, and they're still as big as ever. To commemorate their impact on the music world thus far, the compilation "U218 Singles" has been released. How is it, well read on.
The positives are obvious. Most, if not all, the band's big hits are on here, including "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "Pride (In The Name Of Love)", "With or Without You", "Mysterious Ways", "Where The Streets Have No Name", "One" and many others. I'm not one who owns a great deal of U2 albums (I only have a banged up copy of "Achtung Baby" somewhere in my collection, but that's it), so I'm not sure if they used the full length tracks or single edits. The sound quality is excellent, as the songs do sound better than ever.
Of course, there are some negatives. The two news songs, the Green Day collaboration "The Saints Are Coming" and "Window In The Skies" are underwhelming, and should've been saved for filler tracks on an upcoming album. I would've chopped those two songs off as well as "Walk On" and "Elevation" to make room for tracks like "Gloria", "Discotheque" (a Top 10 hit in America"), "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", "Angel Of Harlem", "I Will Follow" and "When Love Comes To Town", among others. I'm not sure if they'd all fit, or even if they all were singles, but they'd fare more worthy additions to this compilations than the four I've mentioned.
The liner notes are the biggest disappointment. They're just song lyrics. You'd think a band with an extensive history such as U2's would at least get a decent esssay detailing their impact on the music as well as social world? Major disappointment in that department.
That being said, if you're just getting into U2, "U218 Singles" is a pretty well put together starting point, and who knows, maybe a second compilation containing all the forgotten gems will be released soon enough. Unil then, this should hold a good amount of people over, though most hardcore fans will opt to stay away.

Hay compilaciones que en un CD puede resumir bastante bien la historia de un grupo o solista. Pero en cuanto a "U218 Singles" es un compilatorio que deja con deudas.
No est? mal que se publique otro disco compilatorio, pero no est? bien hecho; sin duda est?n los imperdibles "Pride", "With or without you", "One", "Beautiful day" y el reciente "Vertigo"; pero hay algunos que no me parecen que deber?an haber estado como "Sweetest thing", "Walk on" y "Sometimes you can't make it on your own". Quiz?s deber?an haber estado temas como "Stay", "I will follow" o quiz?s el mism?simo "City of blinding lights". Los temas nuevos est?n bien, pero deja con un poco de interrogante sobre el sonido del nuevo disco que estar?a editado a fines de 2007 (Otro disco de U2 a fin de a?o, ?Por qu? les gusta editar en v?speras de Navidad?)
Quiz?s este disco hay que tenerlo simplemente por los temas nuevos, pero a?n espero alg?n disco compilatorio de esta gran banda m?s complementada.
