just got back from the Caribbean...crew on a cat played reggae non-stop...I'm an "over 50" middle aged woman who absolutely fell in love with the sound....UB40 (as on this CD) isn't Bob Marley...doesn't have the spiritual context of rasta... but The Very Best of UB40 is a great CD and adds another dimension to what I encountered in the West Indies. I can't imagine a reggae lover being disappointed in this CD. If I were to lose this CD I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with a brand new one.Free Music Review: BEYOND THE VERY BEST

I knew nothing of UB40's music except for Red Red Wine, which I thought was great. A friend bought me this CD, and I just love it. I find myself going back to it again and again. What a terrific album!!! I'm definitely a UB40 fan now.Free Music Review: Good enough to buy, but...

Okay, I admit, I bought this because I always said if UB40 came out with a greatest hits I'd add it to my collection. However, I only recognized 4 songs on this CD, and 3 of which were reason enough to buy it, at least for me. I also do not have any other UB40 stuff in my collection, hence, it made sense to buy this.
