Free Music Review: One of Uli's Best
Hit: 4 Stars
Don't mind the singing, you'll hate it. However, the guitar playing and the songs are just so good, that you'll find yourself listing over and over. It's too bad that Uli is so bent on singing and writing his own lyrics. I realize that he has a vision to be like Jimi, but he could have hired someone that sounds like Jimi.
With that said, the playing is amazing. This is why guitarist have praised his name. If you haven't heard the Electric Sun era Uli, do yourself a favor and order this one today. His playing from Tokyo Tapes to this release, which was only a year later, is on another level. You hear arpeggios, and scalar runs that he only briefly touched on in the Scorpions. Add in the Hendrix rhythms of "polar Nights" and you get the idea.
A must own!
