Free Music Review: Blown Awayion
Hit: 5 Stars

This is the best rock album I have heard since Radiohead released Kid A.

This album is catchy, jam-packed with technical talent, and has a great flow. Definitely will knock you on your ass. Best part about it is it gets better with every listen. Many of the songs lyrics on the album are about people's failure to achieve self-fulfillment and maximize potential. The first lyrics set up the album's theme well, "Gravely now we stare, at indecision" Lyrically and musically this album shines as one of the best albums I have heard in a long time. Pick it up.

Free Music Review: one of the best of the year
Hit: 5 Stars

Start to finish, this album is unusually listenable. Many different styles and influences come out and keep one's attention. I just saw the band live (for the second time), and must say that although they are talented, they alienate those in the audience who are not into 14 minute long rambling jams. I was left (again)craving for a simple start, rock, finish reminiscent of their studio work. For those who have seen the band live and were overwhelmed and perhaps bored, do not let that stop you from purchasing this release. . . its totally unlike the live show.

Free Music Review: Too Much Rock For One Hand
Hit: 5 Stars

Umphrey's Mcgee is sure to please anyone who likes music. They jam like no other, but also know how to rock with power and and energy and lay down a funky groove that would make Leo Nocentelli (of the Meters) proud. They also put on a fantastic live show. They all have incredible technical and compositional skill. Individually they are some of the best players of each of their instruments around today and together they make one of the best bands around. Buy this album and get educated.

Free Music Review: pure bliss
Hit: 5 Stars

Umphreys is a great band. They are compared a lot to Phish or the Dead, but the only strong similarity I see is they are a jam band. They do a lot of great covers too, often their versions are better than the originals. On this album is one of their most popular songs, In the Kitchen. It's a really good song to start off on if you've never listened to them before. Can't wait to hear it at Wakarusa 2011!

Free Music Review: the new phish
Hit: 5 Stars

these guys are awesome. they sound like old phish but with something new. i will bet anybody ten bucks that in a few years theyre gonna be as big as phish. and if youre only gonna buy one of their albums, this ones better than the local band does okay one. but that ones still really good. but its more free form jazz and this ones free form jazz but with alotta rock. and buy it on itunes for 5 bucks less.
