Free Music Review: A Classic Soundtrack

I have had 3 LPs of this soundtrack, and worn them all out. The music is terrific, and it is the best album I have yet encountered for setting and maintaining a romantic mood. I can't detect any differences between this and the original version, other than the liner art.
The price is excessive, exorbitant in fact, but as in any monopoly, if you want it, you gotta cough up. If you love it as much as I do, it's still worth the price.

This is the original soundtrack of the movie "A Man and a Woman", in French. The "Best of A Man and a Woman" album by Francis Lai is a recording in English, and has nothing to do with the movie. This version has the wonderful, romantic music that made the movie a winner of the Palm D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Yes, the price is outrageous (a rare import?), but I looked and could not find this anywhere else. You gotta pay for art.Free Music Review: Once upon a time

After reading the reviews lamenting the price of the Amazon import, I am puzzled why no one has mentioned the double CD of the "A Man and a Woman" soundtrack (in the original French) along with the execrable "Live For Life." I bought it at Barnes and Noble for $20 if memory serves. Throw out the second half and enjoy "Samba Sarava" and everything else, even if you can't speak French, and remember a 40-year-old love.Free Music Review: Get this the original version

This is the original version, in French, same as the 12 inch vinyl LP released in 1968.
Although more expensive than the later version which is sung in French-accented English ("the" pronounced "ze" and so on), THIS is the one you should buy.
Even if you don't speak a word of French or even when listening to the instrumental cuts, the passion, love, tenderness and power of this CD shines through.

Was thrilled to obtain a copy of this lovely film with English subtitles -I was worried they were going to be in Russian or Spanish! It has been impossible to obtain a copy in Australia.
It took me back over 40 years to a time when life was much simpler and of course, the music makes the film. The package included the CD and I have been enjoying the music whilst in the car.
