I simply cannot believe that the music on this album has not reached regular radio station airplay. Maybe Christopher Thorn is cursed, and any album he works on is destined to be great but unheard except by those who vigorously seek out good music. Who knows, all I know is that this album is superb. As with most albums I buy (except for Stevie Ray), it took me about three or four listens to really start picking up on it. I'm addicted now of course and cannot stop listening to it. Most people here have taken to listing their favorite songs from the album. I will refrain as I love them all. Buy this album! A person can love a band too much. A band connects with their listeners through their music, and when their music dies, that connection is lost. Sometimes though, fans engulfed in a particular band's music will listen hopefully, waiting patiently for something new. When Shannon Hoon died, Blind Melon went to sleep. I believe Unified Theory is an attempt to ressurect that lost connection. I understand the band's need to dismiss any similar sound to their former, but it's impossible to hide. This music is so much like Blind Melon, it's eerie. I can promise that any Blind Melon fan will be thoroughly impressed.Free Music Review: this album better catch on

Excited to hear the new music of the remaining blind melon members, I bought this cd as soon as I heard about it. It is very very good. not very much like blind melon. which is good to me. I like how they have moved in a new direction after vocalist Hoon's death (crying.) The band is Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith, along with original pearl jam drummer Dave Krusen and new vocalist/guitarist Chris Shinn. The music is very melodic and Shinn's voice is exceptional. You should buy this cd. even if you didn't like blind melon or pearl jam. because it hardly sounds like them.Free Music Review: a smooth & great album

I was expecting a continuation of Blind Melon infact. It is not. It's not ever like Pearl Jam neither. A very melodic and fluent album UT. One of the best sounds & albums I bought in last years. CESSNA, FIN, WITHER, PASSIVE and NOT DEAD are outstanding. The sound is quite hi-quality, and you will never get bored when listening it. It's obvious they put very much in.The members seem to complete each other very well. I read that they made CESSNA and PASSIVE in a week after they gathered. Pretty cool and impressive.
You'd better get a copy right away.

The Unified Theory's debut cd will shock and amaze you! This is primo liquid rock people. That's the best way I can describe it. The music melts together into beautiful art. Everything on this record is amazing and from what I've heard of their unreleased songs, it seems they don't know how to write bad music. They've all been around awhile and come from a couple of the 90s elite bands.(Blind Melon and Pearl Jam) If you buy this disc you won't be dissapointed. If you are dissapointed you must be listening the wrong way.
