Free Music Review: Uriah Heeps gr??ter Erfolg

Uriah Heep hatte bereits durch das Cover der ersten LP ein d?monisches Image bekommen. Die Covergestaltung ist ein Meisterwerk. Auch die Fotos innen (Nachtaufnahmen im Studio) dr?cken unaufdringlich etwas unheimliches und w?rdevolles aus. Zu dieser Zeit ?berschlugen sich die Kritiker von Lob, die K?ufer rissen es den H?ndlern f?rmlich aus der Hand. "The Wizard" ist eine Single und einr der besten Songs der Gruppe ?berhaupt. Typisch diese Stimmungsschwankungen zwischen zart und hart. "Rainbow Demon" und "Circle of Hands" sind sensitive keyboardlastige St?cke. "Easy Living" war der Diskothekenfetzer jener Zeit, wo M?dchen wie Jungen ihre extrem langen Haare aussch?ttelten. Man h?rt ihn heute noch manchmal. Gelungen ist wiederum der traditionelle lange Track am Ende Paradis/The Spell. Er ist eher ruhig und David Byrons ausdrucksvolles Facetto f?hrt in verschiedene Emotionen. Gar kein Hard Rock St?ck, wieder eher f?r Genesis-Liebhaber. Die Bonus-Tracks isnd auch toll, "Why" pa?t in das Konzept und war die B-Seite von "The Wizard". Auch in Spanien war "Demonios y ..." ein gro?er Erfolg. H?tte die Gruppe damals aufgeh?rt, es w?re auf ihrem Culminationspunkt gewesen. Eine der besten Platten der Siebziger ?berhaupt. what can i say mannn. My eardrums are blown outt. Still got my Heep poster on tha wall. Had it since I was 12. I'm 45 now and still livin in the same bedroom I grew up in, in my parents house. I help out with the wash. Thats OK cause I got the Heepsters to keep me company. I listen to this album every day mann. It roxxxx! As long as I got Heep starin down at me from that wall, I'll be doin fine. Later!Free Music Review: One of the greatest heavy metal albums ever!

I discovered Heep at age 17 when I bought "Return to Fantasy." I found that album to be an enjoyable listen, and it would frequently be the backdrop to schoolwork, chores, and sundry. Then I bought "Demons and Wizards"...............The first time I heard "The Wizard" my jaw dropped. It was one of the most beautiful songs I had ever heard. When I got around to listening to the full album, I heard something that should be mentioned in the same breath as "Led Zeppelin IV" or
"Paranoid." The arrangements are masterful, even the filler material and token cheesy radio hit "Easy Livin'" are all great, and for being bone thin, Gary Thain played a mean bass guitar.
Anybody who likes good heavy metal should buy this album, and fast!

this is one these albums you have to listen when in another state of mind...acoustic driven"the wizard"gets things going and is occasionally played still on FM radio.my fave"traveller in time"has an awesome groove.the "hit"here is "easy livin'",still occasionally played on radio.the sabbathy"poet's justice"sports a sinister solo by mick box(guitar).anthem"circle of hands"closes side 1(that's Lp talk there kiddies).side 2 commences with "rainbow demon",a great dark rocker with a short but effective solo by box again."all my life"lets off on the emotional reigns for about 3 minutes and the second best tune in my opinion,just a great groove goin'on here.album closer"paradise/the spell",gets back to the mysticalside of things for 11 minutes,weird thing is that it doesn't seemlike 11 minutes though.all in allthis is heep's biggest achievement(this band made many a great album),but i'd say this is their very best.buy it without hesitation,if you are into old metal/hard rock.an essential masterpiece.Free Music Review: One of rock history's greatest cornerstones.

Demons and Wizards was the first Uriah Heep album that I heard. I was about 12 or 13 years old and I was staying at a farm in the country for the summer. I will never forget that moment. A very old farmhouse, a very primative audio. What a music. What a mistique. Favorite songs, Paradise/The Spell, Circle of Hands. Ken Hensley's slide guitar solo on Paradise/The Spell is the best slide guitar solo in rock history! A classic.
