Free Music Notes for ConfessionsFree Music Review: Confessions: CD Review Hit: 5 Stars If you like Usher, then his CD Confessions is a great musical collection. Not only does Usher talk about his life in on the CD but he also relates it to everyone else's lives. This CD is one of my favorite of all of Ushers albums he has ever put out.It is hard for me to pick two favorite tracks because I enjoy this CD. I can listen to it over and over again and never skip a track. My two favorite tracks on Usher's Confessions album are "Truth Hurts" and "Simple Things." They are the trademarks of Usher because they are really downbeat in a kind of sudden way. They are a lot like the music he put out on his first album, sexy but they have a meaning. Not only to be sexy but to speak to you with strong feelings. "Truth Hurts and "Simple Things" go together when you look at their lyrical make up. I mean the whole CD goes together but these two tracks go hand in hand. All of the lyrics are consistent with one another. On this CD the tracks run right into each other in a certain way that they tie into each other. I have always liked Usher, not only is he sexy but his music can relate to any mood and anytime. Usher grabs you not only by his looks but by his voice, which can make you scream and make you cry. If you are a first time listener you need to buy Usher's Confessions album for a combination of maturity and fun. Usher can be compared to Ginuwine in a certain way. They are both sexy and they both can make the lady scream. Usher dances a little better than Ginuwine but they both use their voices as an advantage. If I could suggest another album from Usher is would be "My Way." This album is also another example of a sexy mature but fn album.
Free Music Review: Usher Reveals his Soulful Side Through Confessions Hit: 4 StarsConfessions is a shift in style for Usher away from the urban sound of his earlier albums This album has an interesting mix of some of the electronic and pop sounds on "8701" and a more soulful sound. The majority of songs on this album are slow tempo, but the soul behind them keeps them interesting.
Intro: This is a good intro to the album
Yeah!: I thought that this song would have gotten old, but it hasn't. I often plan on skipping this song because I've heard it so often, but I almost never do. It's got a great beat to it, but there's nothing special about the lyrics. 9/10
Throwback: This song has soul mixed with pop and even a little bit of a light rock sound. The soul sample is what really makes the song. The pop and rock sound make it a bit weaker. 8/10
Confessions: This is a great introduction to "Confessions." Usher gets a phone call at his studio.
Confessions Part II: The beat behind the main beat of this song is infectious. It's a unique song that is fairly slow yet really catchy. 8.9/10
Burn: This is actually one of the weaker songs on the album. It's a typical Usher song which sounds similar to "Nice and Slow" or "U Got It Bad." It's nice, but there's not really anything outstanding about it. Usher shows good range in his voice on it though. 8.5/10
Caught Up: This faster track has an electronic sound to it. I really like the beginning of it, but it turns into a song that's just good. It's the weakest song on the album. 7.5/10
Superstar Interlude: This is an excellent introduction to "Superstar."
Superstar: One of the best songs on the album. I love the classic soul sound to it. 9.2/10
Truth Hurts: This is the best song on the album. It's mid-tempo with a very good beat, lyrics, and soulful sound. 9.3/10
Simple Things: I wish this song had more of the great part that comes up around 1:00 into the song. It gets a more catchy, soulful, and up-tempo sound here, but then drops it and it's never heard in the song again. It goes back to the slower sound of the beginning of the song. It's still a very good song though. The frustrating thing is it could have been great. 8.3/10
Bad Girl: This is one of the best songs on the album. It's a more up-tempo song, with a very unique sound to it that you wouldn't expect to hear on an Usher album. The only problem is the lyrics aren't that great. 8.7/10
That's What It's Made For: This is another slower song with a catchy beat to it. I love the horns (or sax?) in it. It is very sexual, and has some R. Kelly style to it. 9/10
Can You Handle It?: This is a fairly typical R&B slow song which has some Ginuwine style to it. Again, Usher shows an improvement in his singing with his range. 8.8/10
Do It To Me: This is the slowest song on the album. The music and beat behind the song is nothing special but Usher and his backup singers sound amazing on this song, and they give it a different sound from most other slow R&B songs. 9.1/10
Take Your Hand: This track almost has a Michael Jackson sound to it. It's very catchy, but the scratchy record sound throughout the song can get annoying if you pay too much attention to it. 9.2/10
Follow Me: Usher ends the album with a great, fairly unique mid-tempo song. Usher and the backup singers give this one a great sound. 9/10
Overall I would rate this album:
8.6/10
Free Music Review: YEAH! this album is hot Hit: 4 StarsUsher does amazing on this album especially in Yeah! with Lil' John and Ludacris. It makes usher seem less of a mama's boy which he is in caught up(but also a good song). Overall i love this album and i love usher and the song yeah
Free Music Review: Yeah!!! Hit: 5 StarsAre you tired of turning on your radio and realizing that about every other station is rap? Usher's Album "Confessions" may be just the thing for you. Usher's style of R&B (Rhythm and Blues) will grab your attention as soon as it hits your ears. Usher's songs have a rap feel to them; however, unlike rap artists, Usher has musical talent and sings instead of talking in a rhythmic manner.
Usher grabs your attention after the intro with his hit "Yeah!" (featuring Lil' Jon and Ludacris). It is almost impossible to hold back any dance moves that may be lying idle in your body. With a great solid and repetitive beat in the background, there is no way that you can help but bob your head and start shouting, "Yeah!"
"Confessions" seems to have been written from personal experience and inner feelings. A listener gets a taste of this in the track "Burn." While Usher is hitting the sweet falsetto, there is a solid group of back up singers and a solid beat that is nothing short of being catchy. The heartfelt breakup song demonstrates how Usher can go from a very up beat feel in "Yeah!" to a laid back feel in "Burn."
Usher really slows it down with "Can You Handle It?" Usher mixes a solid slow rhythmic beat, with steel drums, and some solid backup singers, while he screeches out the falsetto. This song just goes to prove that he is able to slow it down and have a great hit all in one.
The first couple of songs on this album seemed to set a common trend of apologizing for what he has done to his girl. Hence the album title, "Confessions." Overall, I enjoyed the album because it gave me a rap feel without the rap. (If that makes any sense at all.) The album showed off all of Usher's talents including, his incredible range (hence his falsetto) and his catchy backgrounds that will make any head bob up and down. I thoroughly enjoyed this album and I give it five stars. * * * * *
