Free Music Notes for My WayFree Music Review: Usher's 2nd Album My Way Hit: 5 StarsI remember this album when I was in the 5th grade. I played this album constantly back in the day. My Way shows how Usher is handling his transition into manhood, his career and his return to the music scene. The creative control and personal input he had on this album is evident in all 10 melodic tracks. The combination of Usher's mature voice,self-confidence and youthful flavor displays much of his personality through this album. This album is another step on the ladder of success this man is climbing. This album has been certified 7x Platinum. Remember, this was 1997-1998.
Free Music Review: Usher's Way Hit: 4 StarsUsher's sophmore release, My Way actually set him away from his competition. A lot of production was held down by Jermain Dupri and he gave him some of his best work. The smooth mid-tempo "You Make Me Wanna..." sets this off into the right direction with its sexy appeal. Next you get right to the sex with "Nice & Slow" with its unforgettable guitar licks. Babyface lends his talents to Usher to give it a more pop appeal. The dance track of "My Way" is what he's know for doing best is the highlight of this release. "I Will" produced by Sprague Williams is another one that'll keep this lp in your deck. Usher also co-wrote five of the ten songs found on here and that says a lot by taking control his way.
Free Music Review: Usher is doin it his way Hit: 5 StarsUsher has got so many good albums and this is definately one of them! You Make Me Wanna, Nice and Slow, and My Way are the 3 best songs on the album, the others are also good. This CD is so good it sold 6 million copies and won a grammy award. This CD is for anyone into Usher or R&B music.
Free Music Review: Doing it His Way Hit: 5 StarsUsher did a great job on this cd. There's a good combination of dance and slow songs. It did a good job of showing his talents. It also shows his flexibility because Usher is a R&B singer, not a rapper, but he has some nice blended tracks on this cd. It's definitely worth buying and you can listen to it from back to front, which is rare these days.
Free Music Review: when is this dude gonna release a greatest hits?! Hit: 3 Stars"You Make Me Wanna..." is definitely the best track, very catchy. It has an extremely memorable techno harp/guitar-ish background effect (think TLC's "No Scrubs," Pink's "There You Go," Destiny's Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills"). My only complaint is that Usher desperately needs to do a few more dance songs, why all the ballads...? He's a great dancer but I doubt he's ever able to use them, he does so many slow songs.
