Free Music Notes for My WayFree Music Review: It's Been A While Hit: 4 StarsI almost forgot that I bought this CD from Amazon, and neglected to review it. Usher is a talented singer and the album is great. There was really no point for the album to be parental advisory except one song that he does with Lil' Kim. However, if you like this album, then I'm sure you would like his new album as well.
Free Music Review: The album that elevated Usher to superstar status Hit: 4 StarsThis album really put Usher as a core artist for both mainstream and urban radio with huge hits like U Make Me Wanna, My Way and Nice & Slow. However, as is the case with many radio artists, does the rest of their album live up to the singles? In this case, almost. First of all, there are only nine different songs on here. I'm not counting the extended mix of U Make Me Wanna. Second, very few of the songs besides the singles are noteworthy. The collaborations are pretty good here: Monica, Lil' Kim and Jermaine Dupri. Surprisingly, it's Lil' Kim's and Jermaine Dupri's raps that give the album the explicit sticker and not anything that Usher says. The major downpoint of the album is the annoying I Will. Overall, this is a pretty good album, but don't rush out to get it thinking it's great based solely on the singles. I'd borrow a copy first.
Free Music Review: This album rocks Hit: 4 StarsThis album is pretty cool, the only problem being that it is way too short for a proper album. The radio-friendly (sarcasm) Just Like Me is the best track on the album.Would be a five if it wasn't so short
Free Music Review: not bad Hit: 3 Starsi liked this album, but only a few songs. i mean u have songs on the album that aren't anything like the singles. "my way", "nice and slow" & "u make me wanna" sound nothing like the rest of the album. the album though doesn't have any tracks at all that were like the singles. and in fact they aren't even good songs:"just like me" featuring rap sex kitten lil kim is off the chain. her raps are what make the album bare the explicit advisory sticker. still the track is kinda slow but up-beat at the same time. the way that usher mixes rnb & rap is really cool, and who doesn't like it. perhaps the best song on the album though is "slow jam" with rnb sensation, and new and upcoming diva monica. after releasing 2 multi-platinum albums, the two finally hooked back after there 94-95 teaming. now let me ask this? didn't this song already appear on a soundtrack before this album dropped? "bedtime", "i will", "come back" & "one day you'll be mine" are more weak tracks, and if that isn't bad enough, he has an extended version of the first single on his album for the closing tracks. this album was short to begin with and the "you make me wanna" is on there twice & "slow jam" is from a different album. does anyone else see a problem with that?
Free Music Review: DiSiLluSiOnEd Hit: 3 Stars"I Luv usher, he is my boyfriend. I think he is cheating on me with other woman. It ok becos he is fine and sing to me a new song from his album every nite. When I am down he sing nice and make me strong"Can someone please write a decent review...please? Just to say that 9 songs for an album (in this day and age) is pretty poor - even for someone as "fine" as usher. I wasnt feeling the Babyface tracks at all - no originality and creativeness at all. The JD tracks were slamming and cold, but I think Usher shouldn't have strayed from the awesome production talents from his first album - Puffy, Chucky Thompson and Devante (among others) who, collectively, created one of the top 3 rnb albums of all time (along with Jodeci's "Show, After Party..." and Ginuwine's "Bachelour"). What was also great about that album was that you had some of todays talent in their pre-supastar status, like Puff, Timbaland, and Tone/Poke (one of the two from Trackmasters) along with Faith Evans. Sorry, but as good as about 4/5 tracks on this album are - it simply does NOT compete with the classic of '94. PEACE EASY!
