I was debating which album to purchase. The choices were 3 of my favorite instrumentalists, Ustad Sultan Khan, L. Shankar, and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. The common factor in all 3 albums was Ustad Zakir Hussain on tabla. Though all albums I'm sure are brilliant, this is possibly the most exhilirating and moving music i have ever heard. Khansahib and Zakir-bhai are in top form. They are both considered to be the top performing musicians on their instruments....sarod and tabla. I love the long ragas on cd's. It is best when they fit one raga on an album rather than a few short ones I think. The raga played here is Rageshwari. It is beautiful. If you want to listen to a raga rendered beautifully by two of the top hindustani classical musicians of all time, buy this album. It soars to unbeliveable heights of virtuosity with both musician. The melody and rhythmic interplay are splendid.
