Free Music Notes for Astral Weeks

Free Music Review: Mystical comfort amidst the muddling madness of life
Hit: 5 Stars

Without a doubt, one of the most precious musical offerings ever. All of the songs are perfect and work perfectly in establishing a mood somewhat mystical, somewhat spiritual, somewhat nostalghic, somewhat melancholic, but ultimately always uplifting. Astral Weeks is an experiece for the fortunate who listen, get it, and dig it. Love it.

Free Music Review: Good Music Sounds Like This
Hit: 5 Stars

If you think this album isn't very good because it doesn't have songs that sound like Domino on it, chances are good that I don't like you very much.

I'm by no means a huge fan of Van Morrison. I've liked some of his work that I've casually heard on the radio, but if you asked me to name some songs of his, all I could come up with are Domino and Brown-Eyed Girl. Frankly I'm so sick of those songs, I really didn't have much interest in Astral Weeks. But my wife checked it out from the library, and I really was blown away by how great of an album it is.

So don't believe the reviews that say that Astral Weeks is "for Van Morrison fanatics only" or other such nonsense. I only like music that doesn't suck, and I say this is great music.

Free Music Review: Add This CD to Your Van Morrison Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

Van Morrison's unique and compelling style is evident throughout this outstanding CD. It's like an entire album of deep cuts that you never hear on the radio, but are many of your favorites.

Free Music Review: More art than entertainment
Hit: 5 Stars

I decided to write this to clarify that this music is on the art side not the entertainment side. Unfortunately, our culture has taken to the habit of calling entertainers artists. This creates confusion when we come across a genuine work of art in the pop/rock genre. This work is among a tiny group of pop/rock albums that are works of art. Some of the reviews here are applying pop sensibilities to a work of art and the result is absolutely silly.

Free Music Review: Astral Weak
Hit: 1 Stars

You'd have to be an absolute idiot to enjoy this. It doesn't even have Brown Eyed Girl which is the only half decent thing Mr Morrison ever did. And what sort of name is Van? Stick to Ronan Keating for that bit of Irish soul.
