Sorry "Van traditionalists", but "Into the Music" is the apex of Van's career. He has no better album song for song (although "Moondance" comes close) and rarely shows such wonderful variety. The pure joy of such tracks as "Bright Side Of The Road" and "You Make Me Feel So Free" on side one is complemented by the contemplative masterpieces on side two. For anyone who loves Van's voice, the emotional heights of "Angeliou" are enough to send chills up your spine.
