Free Music Notes for Poetic Champions ComposeFree Music Review: Van's Inspirational Bluesy Jazzy Love Album Ages Beautifully Hit: 5 StarsI'm an old VM fan and bought this album when it came out in 1987. The uplifting message of believing in your feelings to achieve love and happiness in your life saw me through a sad divorce and gave me the vision to think about what I wanted in my next relationship. When I met my soul mate (now married 13 years) Van's words... "I began to realize there's magic in my life" "You get stronger when you get the feeling...when you got it down in your soul"......yes, I got the feeling and yes, I met the someone I had been looking for my whole life. Today Poetic Champions Compose still carries me to a place of reflection and belief in the power of love. It reminds me that we must have faith in ourselves and in a higer power and when we look for the positive we will find it. A soulful journey with Van, this album is a must for any VM fan and for those who want to discover the magic of his talent and the beauty within yourself. Don't miss it. 14 years of listening and the music and the words are fresh and meaningful.
Free Music Review: Van Morrison "Poetic Champions Compose" Hit: 5 StarsThis CD is by far one of my favorite by VM. His poetic words go the depth of the soul and are inspiring, as usual. I strongly recommend this CD to anyone who is a true VM fan. OUTSTANDING!!!
Free Music Review: Musical Mana Hit: 5 StarsAs if the gods or muses of music gave us a gift, one to savor and revisit. Van is at his finest, whether blowing the sax or laying down soul-felt vocals. The only song I'm not too taken with is his remake of "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child," and that is simply because I am tired of the song.
Free Music Review: The Album that re-acquainted me with Van Morrison ... Hit: 5 StarsThe critics were not particularly impressed with this album. The poet Rilke said, "...with nothing so small as criticism may one approach a work of art; they all come down to more or less happy misunderstandings ..." This is my favorite rainy-day album of all time; the opening saxophone of "Spanish Steps" setting the mood to settle in, listen, and daydream. And "Queen of the Slipstream" is one of my favorite love songs. If you're a Van Morrison fan, or your tastes run toward mellow jazz / adult contemporary, this is worth a listen.
Free Music Review: Breathe deep and enjoy. Hit: 5 StarsListening to Van Morrison is like enjoying a refreshing breeze glide across my face. This album is excellent for a time of quiet meditation. I could write about all the songs, but I must write about one. "I Forgot that Love Existed" resonates deep within me. Every time I hear it, I am moved. Don't miss this beautful CD.
