Free Music Review: My Favorite Van Album
Hit: 5 Stars

Although I have stated I think "Into The Music" is Van's greatest album, this is my personal favorite. It oozes with beautiful jazz flavored melodies. It really transports the listener to another place altogether and can set the perfect mood for enjoying a rainy day. A few choice moments: the grandiouse orchestration of "The Mystery", the subtle but infectious opening piano of "I Forgot That Love Existed", the backing vocals of "Did Ye Get Healed?" You know this is one of his finest works when such gems as "Alan Watts Blues" and "Give Me My Rapture" occupy the usual "filler" spots on what used to be called "Side 2". This is definitely one of the handful of albums to start with if you're not a VanFan, and if you are and still don't own this one... you're missing out.

Free Music Review: Van Morrison at his soulful best
Hit: 5 Stars

When wanting to buy a artist like Van Morrison it's hard just to get a greatest hits ablum. There are two types and two differint sounds of Van Morrison this is one of his more soulful jazz type ablums. The opining track "Spanish Steps" makes you feel like you are in a 1920 bar, that goes right in to "The mystery" a song that is sung with alot of heart one line being "I saw the lights of acient Greece towards the one." Then you get "Queen of the slipstream" talking about a lady love know dought trust me one of Vans best songs. "Did ye get healed?" is also a great song to have if you want to just relax. In closing this is a very deep ablum and it's for those other soulsearchers out there, the man knows what he's doing.

Free Music Review: Searching for truth in beauty; for beauty in lounge jazz
Hit: 4 Stars

This is a typical example of Van's post-hits '80s style. Gorgeous string arrangements, Van trying his hand at several different instruments, more crooning than belting in the vocals. This is mood music in the very best sense of the term, as only "someone like Van" could have created it.

Free Music Review: An awsome album that no Van Morrison fan should be without
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of my favourite CD's and is a masterpiece right from the blues, almost jazz like, instrumentals of the opening and closing tracks through to the beautiful "Queen of the slipstream" and "Did ye get healed" with which you're probably already familiar. The whole album has a Sunday morning feel to it and is one that you will probably never tire of. My favourite track is the wonderful "Someone like You" which you may remember from such film soundtracks as Meg Ryan's "French Kiss" and John Candy's "Only the Lonely". Truly splendid stuff, if you only buy 1 CD this year, make it this one.

Free Music Review: A record I never tire of
Hit: 5 Stars

Beautiful, romantic, reflective, joyful. One of his best and that's saying a lot given the body of work he's done.
