Free Music Notes for The Philosopher's Stone

Free Music Review: very nearly perfect
Hit: 5 Stars

Well if this is what he didn't think was good enough to be released at the time, it just goes to show how good Vans' music is.

I lost this CD for a bit when a friend forgot to return it. I didn't realise how much firstly I listened to it, and secondly, how much I loved it. For me the version of 'Wonderful Remark' is worth the money itself, but if you take my advise, find the one you love, curl up together with a good bottle of wine, turn the lights down and just enjoy song after song of Van Morrison at his best. Ps Thanks Suzi for doing that with me

Free Music Review: IF YOU LIKE VAN MORRISON, DEFINATELY CHECK OUT THIS ALBUM!
Hit: 5 Stars

Before I picked up this album, Led Zeppelin's "Live At BBC" is what I called the greatest album of all time, that has changed. This album has a lot of songs that I can relate with, that really make me think. If I was locked in a room with this album, a notebook, pen,and suffice food for a week, I would be completely content. Call me crazy, but it's true. Check out the song "Wonderful Remark," it was released previously in a different format, both are good, but this one takes the cake. My girlfriend and I have been off and on, and this song fits well with the situation I'm going through, so I made a copy of it, and wrote out the lyrics for her, so she could think about things, thus far things are going o.k. I'm sure at least one of you out there, if not all will find a song on this album that grabs a hold of you, and challenges your mind. Happy listening and take it easy.

Free Music Review: There is a 5-star record in here, trying to get out
Hit: 4 Stars

Enough great cuts to make the lesser ones bearable. For fans of Morrison's early-70s stuff, this is like finding an overlooked gem. The post-"Into the Music" selections leave a little to be desired. But it is still great to hear him blow a few mean harp solos, and sing some blues like he used to do. I hate to live in the past, but at times this record sounds like the old days. And that means it sounds just great!

Free Music Review: It's all about the bluesy music...
Hit: 5 Stars

Foggy Mountain Top pretty much sums it all up. It's doesn't get better than that for blues, or for music for that matter.

Free Music Review: Van The Man continues fighting with his soul
Hit: 5 Stars

That kind of compilations are great. It has a large number of good songs of Van such as "Wonderful Remark", "Madame Joy", "John Henry", " The Street Only Knew Your Name" and more. I only saw one bad track ( Showbusiness ). I think that if you hear this album you will inmediatly buy it and after that ( if you are a new listener ) you will buy all of his classic albums.
