Free Music Review: A Charmer
Hit: 4 Stars

I didn't fall in love with Tupelo Honey as immediately and fully as I did with Van's masterpiece, Moondance, but it's impossible to not be charmed and seduced by the kindhearted sweetness of the record. That title track alone is one of the most tender songs he's ever recorded, an imagistically evocative love song that never feels slight or unearned. The record around it may not have a revelation quite to that level, but it does have a steady stream of songs that coax smiles from all directions - from the hopeful fun of "Wild Night" to the "mmm bubbles" conclusion in "Moonshine Whiskey."

Free Music Review: summer music at its best
Hit: 5 Stars

all i can say about this album by Van Morrison is pure bliss. When i listen to songs on this album i instantly get the urge to put this in the cd player and just drive around at night with the windows down. wow, what an uplifting album for someone to just start there life over again. one track that stands out to me is the title track "tupelo honey." you know that part in a great movie where the couple first meets and is starting to fall in love, any good music supervisor of a film has songs like this permantly in thier mind. I put this album right up there with Springsteen's "Born to Run" or Dylan's "blonde on blonde." definitly a worthy album for your cd player.

Free Music Review: Come on out and dance.

"All the girls go by dressed up for each other and the boys do the boogie-woogie on the corner of the street. The passers-by stare in wide-eyed wonder as the inside juke box roars out just like thunder".
This fine example of Early Van is worth the asking price for the above lyrics alone - taken from "Wild Night".

Free Music Review: Don't It Get You In Your Throat
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't want to try to classify or categorize this album or Van. Both Tupelo Honey and Van Morisson transcend all labels. I agree with the reviewer who commented on this albums spirituality. It is indeed as soulful and uplifting in a profound sense as it is light and delightful in a musically pleasing manner. There are only a smattering of albums out there that retain their relevancy and potency like Tupelo Honey (Harvest by Neil Young, Revolver by The Beatles and Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan are the only ones I can think of right now). These songs are so thoroughly pleasing listen after listen. It is truely remarkable how I never get sick of this music. It has that special something that makes you feel so alive while listening. Van explains it perfectly on You're My Woman, "and it's really real, the way I feel, it's really real." This is a classic recording that everyone should own a copy of. I definitely recommend it to all fans of music. (My favorites: Like a Cannonball, Old Old Woodstock and Starting A New Life)

Free Music Review: Tupelo Honey - An Enjoyable Van Morrison CD
Hit: 4 Stars

Tupelo Honey contains 9 very nice soundtracks. The first track, 'Wild Night', is undoubtedly my favorite Van Morrison song. 'Tupelo Honey' is one of Van's most enjoyable songs. The CD also includes 'Straight to Your Heart (Like a Cannonball)', 'Old, Old Wodstock', 'Starting a New Life', 'You're My Woman', 'I Wanna Roo You', When that Evening Sun Goes Down', and 'Moonshine Whiskey'. It is my 4th favorite Van Morrison CD.
