Free Music Review: Reincarnation of Paganini?...

It doesn't matter whether it's her first, nor does it matter what people call it. It simply sounds great! You have never heard Bachs 'Toccata and Fugue in D minor' like this and I dare you to try and keep still while 'Contradanza' and 'Classical Gas' are playing. Percussion and a haunting violin on 'Theme from Caravan' give it a Middle East feel. Sax and other windy Jazz sounds are on the appropriately named 'Jazz will eat itself' There is a slower more blended sound on 'Widescreen' and 'Tequila Mockingbird' the latter with a Latin flavour.

Overall the album is an exploration of what a violin can do. The artiste says it best herself. "Violin playing is a physical art with great traditions behind it. At it's best, it conveys the qualities of beauty, strength and mystique. It can evoke emotions, create moods and stimulate human reaction" One final thing to consider. These mature words and this well crafted album come from a 16 year old who just happens to share the same birthday as Paganini. Reincarnation?, I doubt it, but it sure sounds like it!
