Both the album and Lotus mixes are downtempo Jazz/Electronica. Now Vanessa is known for fusing Jazz and Electroncis along with sexually explicit(but not sleazy) lyrics (check out her debut album Zipless) and so this song is sexy in it's content and feel. Now for both the "Valley of the Daou" and the "Twilo" mixes Miss Daou and Danny Tenaglia rebuild the song from the ground up - unless there was an alternate vocal take in which was employed for this version - and this song's sexiness is elevated even higher as Daou sings (rather speaks rhythmically but Heaven forbid it be rap) in a low and seductive voice. The feel of the original version lives on in these two club renderings, both which clock in over 11 minutes. The fact that the remixes all have the same feel for the original should be no suprise, as firstly, the song was produced by Peter Daou - one lucky hubby (haha). Secondly, Mr. Daou did the Lotus Mix. And thirdly, Vanessa's husband is playing the keyboards on the mixes by Danny Tenaglia!
Other recommendations for Club Mix fans would be Danny Tenaglia's remixes for "Give My Self To You" as well as "Surrender Yoursellf", both by The Daou (Vanessa & Peter) and Sunday Afternoons which appears on this cd single.
As for the track Milk & Honey Mix, that version is also a downtempo remix by Peter Daou which runs along the lines of the original version but I think it takes on a more pop/R&B appeal opposed to Jazz/Electronica.
