Free Music Notes for Finding Forrester (2000 Film)

Free Music Review: Miles Davis quietly guides listeners through "Forrester"
Hit: 4 Stars

Gus Van Sant, the filmmaker responsible for "Finding Forrester," chose Jazz pioneer Miles Davis to guide us through this complex drama. Van Sant, who used Elliot Smith's lonesome ballads to pull heart strings in "Good Will Hunting," uses some of Miles Davis' most solitary and contemplative music to accopmany his film on writting. In fact the last track on the album "In A Silent Way" musically parallels the act of writting and thinking. The song is complex but gentle and features Miles at his creative, post-fusion best. "In A Silent Way," and all the tracks on this album (some by Bill Frissel) are like well behaved children, evoking all the complexities and beauty of life yet demanding no atttention or energy. perfect music to accompany the solitary act of writting or just a quiet day.

Free Music Review: Editorial Review is wrong
Hit: 4 Stars

Before writing an editorial review make sure your info is right. The young boy is not torn between writing and basketball. He is torn between writing and his friends from the hood. He doesn't want to appear too "smart" to them, and he doesn't meet Sean Connery over the internet!!!! Forrester doesn't even use a phone!!!!!! That's a very important part of his reclusive character. See the film before writing any kind of review of it or its music.

Free Music Review: great music but it's missing that key song
Hit: 4 Stars

The song in question is by Hans Zimmer, the lead track on the True Romance soundtrack. That's the pivotal moment in the movie -- when William Forrester rediscovers his independence, and Jamal Wallace goes to the New York Public Library to write... It's an important moment in the film, in the soundtrack, and it's missing! I had to knock a star off for the deletion, even though this movie is in my Top Ten. :(

Free Music Review: to answer val's question
Hit: 4 Stars

the song you were asking about was originally from the movie "badlands". i havent checked if it has a soundtrack but if it does youll definately find that song on it. this is the same song in true romance and finding forrester (both took it from badlands). hope this helps. aam

Free Music Review: Bill Brown is who you're looking for!
Hit: 4 Stars

I noticed some reviewers were looking for the song at the end of the film and during the bike scene of Finding Forrester. The composer is Bill Brown. You can download the song at Billbrownmusic.com

I was looking for it too and I found it. I hope this helps.
