Free Music Notes for Almost FamousFree Music Review: I miss this music. Hit: 5 Stars
I truly miss this music. Does anyone else miss actual music from rock'n roll bands? I definitely realize there are still some amazing musicians who do play real-live instruments, write their own music, & have lyrics that say something, but there's just so much yuck on the radio these days, it's disappointing! That's what albums, tapes, & cds are for, I suppose. Anyway, I love the movie, and the music. I will definitely check out the book! God bless songwriters, musicians, & artists of all kinds! Please keep making music for those of us who want to listen, dance, & teach our children what real music was/is. Thank God I was raised on this music & it's in my soul. Rock on! Oh, I'm also a bit of a dork, but who isn't?!!
Free Music Review: a good selection of songs makes this a good thing to get Hit: 5 Stars
i haven't actually seen the movie, but I owned copies of about half the songs in the set and was curious as to how they fit in with the songs I hadn't heard. the playlist is a little strange, and listening to it out of context of the movie is a kind of weird. However, I was introduced to the work of Clarence Carter and Thunderclap Newman through this cd, and the songs they contributed are so good I am looking to buy collections of their work. There are a lot of classic songs that I would never have thought to put onto one cd on here. I definitely recommend it, especially if you liked the movie. I undertand that there were many songs ommited, which is the only real problem I could find with this cd. you should check it out.
Free Music Review: GREAT NOSTALGIC SOUNDTRACK Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack is one of the best to come along in years. I was too young to remember these tunes in their original time of release, but over the years I have heard most of them so often that they have become familiar friends. Having been a huge Led Zeppelin fan in my teens, I was pleased to find them here. Everyone is saying that this film is the first to use Led Zeppelin songs on its soundtrack, but during my peak Zeppelin listening years in the early 80's I remember seeing an obscure film on television called 'Homer' (1970), about a young man coming of age and avoiding the draft in the Viet Nam era, which included 'How Many More Times' from the first Led Zeppelin album on its soundtrack.
Free Music Review: 17 years alive and only just met true music Hit: 5 Stars
Now im only 17 and im obviously not old enoguh to rember any of the 70's, i havnt even listened to much from the 70's... until that is i heard this alubm, i saw the film and well i brought the album because i like elton john and tiny dancer is some of his best work, Thunder clap newman i have heard on adverts and i knew i had to get it in my collection. So anyway i had to get the album. Little did i know that i would fall inlove with it, simple man is amzing, david bowie (who i hated before) is great and the beach boys (who i alway thought where oddly camp) have come into a new light. You must get this album if you have never heard this stuff before, its the corner stone to a collection.
Free Music Review: Absolutely awesome !!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is an awesome soundtrack that does for the music of seventies what the Forrest Gump soundtrack did for the fifties and sixties. It has a little bit of everything from the decade. It is a great CD to just pop in and grove to as you drive down the road singing with your friends. The great thing about it is that includes alot of good songs from well-known artists, but not necessarily the songs that you hear played the most these days. Even though the movie isn't even out yet, the soundtrack floats scenes into your mind and begins to weave the story and sets a mood. This is the stuff directors dream of in their soundtracks. Absolutely Awesome!!!!
